Chris Lewis is not a strange name to the Vietnamese food community. He is the owner of a YouTube channel with nearly one million followers, regularly sharing travel and culinary experiences around the world .

Recently, Chris had a trip back to Vietnam. His first stop in Hanoi was not a famous place, but the Thao noodle soup restaurant - a familiar dining place for Hanoians and tourists in lane 61 Lac Trung (Vinh Tuy ward).

This small restaurant serves many dishes, but Chris's favorite is crab noodle soup. The tourist even said that he was "addicted" to this dish from the first time he tasted it.

Chris ordered a full bowl of vermicelli soup with crab, no shrimp paste. When the hot bowl of vermicelli was brought out, he added some garlic vinegar and chili and mixed it well. As soon as he tasted the first spoonful of broth, he immediately nodded, praising the spicy, aromatic and rich aftertaste of the broth.

He humorously shared that the full bowl of noodles made him feel like he "couldn't finish it". He also praised the "generous" restaurant owner for giving him so much crab.

Chris also expressed his delight when enjoying shredded banana flower - a vegetable dish served with vermicelli soup. "The shredded banana flower is crispy, without any banana flavor. This is a very special vegetable because it is a flower of a banana tree," he said.

While enjoying the bun rieu, Chris happily chatted with the restaurant owner. He said that as soon as he arrived in Hanoi, he took the opportunity to go to the restaurant to eat this dish, even though the restaurant was quite far away, it took him more than an hour to travel.

"I have eaten bun rieu at this restaurant before and found that there is no other place as delicious as this. So even though the restaurant is far away, I still make time to come and eat. I feel that the broths in Vietnam are all very delicious, even better than the broths in Korea or Japan," Chris said.

At the restaurant, each bowl of vermicelli soup costs 40,000 VND - a price that Chris commented was delicious - nutritious - cheap. The restaurant also offers free iced tea for regular customers, making Chris's experience even more complete.

According to the reporter's research, this vermicelli soup restaurant also "satisfies" many customers. On social networks, many people leave positive reviews and comments for the restaurant.

Diners on social networks also gave the restaurant many positive reviews: Affordable prices, generous portions, clean space, fast take-out or on-site service, clear broth with crab flavor.

Bun Rieu Thao opens from 6am to 2:30pm every day of the week. Many people commented that because the restaurant is quite small, during peak hours, the restaurant can run out of tables, and customers have to wait patiently for an empty table.
