New school year opening ceremony in Truong Sa

On September 5, along with students across the country, students on islands in Truong Sa island district (Khanh Hoa province) entered the opening ceremony of the new school year 2024-2025.

Very early, parents and students were present at primary schools in Truong Sa town, Song Tu Tay commune, Sinh Ton commune and Da Tay island to attend the opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony on the islands, teachers and students also received gifts of encouragement from local authorities and military units on duty on the islands.

Mr. Le Dinh Hai, Chairman of the People's Committee of Truong Sa District, said that to prepare for the opening ceremony of the new school year for schools in the area, the district leaders coordinated with the Department of Education and Training to provide books, notebooks, and learning tools, and transport them from the mainland to the island in time for students and teachers to start the new school year.

Teacher Luu Quoc Thinh (teacher at Da Tay Primary School) said that in recent days, teachers, officers and soldiers on the island have repaired and prepared school facilities.

According to Mr. Thinh, books and school supplies sent from the mainland are now complete, and all preparations for the new school year have been completed. "Teachers and students will continue to overcome difficulties and strive to compete in teaching well and learning well right from the first lessons," said Mr. Thinh.

According to Khanh Hoa Department of Education and Training, during the summer, teachers in Truong Sa District return to the mainland for vacation. On this occasion, the department organizes training courses to provide teachers with new knowledge on education and training. At the beginning of August every year, the department also prepares books and school supplies for teachers and students in Truong Sa District.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Khanh Hoa province will have more than 290,000 students and more than 20,000 administrators, teachers and staff.

The province currently has 521 kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools. To prepare for the new school year, the provincial Department of Education and Training has invested in building and repairing facilities for schools with a total cost of nearly 675.4 billion VND; purchased nearly 62 billion VND in teaching equipment, and will continue to purchase and supplement in the coming time.

Receive gifts on opening day

At the opening ceremony this morning, the Executive Committee of the Youth Union of Khatoco Packaging Printing Joint Stock Company (Khanh Hoa) presented 100 gifts to students in difficult circumstances and 20 gifts (worth about 13 million VND) to poor students who overcame difficulties at Vinh Truong Primary School (Nha Trang City).

The Executive Committee of the Khatoco Packaging Printing Joint Stock Company's Youth Union presented 1,000 notebooks to Vinh Truong Primary School.
