The OCOP Agricultural Products Festival and Culinary Culture of 6 Viet Bac Provinces in 2024 is an activity within the series of activities of the 15th "Through Viet Bac Heritage Lands" Tourism Program - Bac Kan in 2024, associated with a number of activities celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Liberation of Bac Kan Province (September 24, 1949 - September 24, 2024).

This is a place of convergence and cultural exchange of many ethnic minorities, many customs, practices, festivals, folk culture, cuisine, unique traditional crafts, with diverse and rich OCOP products, typical rural industrial products; with many beautiful natural landscapes, diverse ecosystems with primeval forests, systems of rivers, lakes, waterfalls, majestic caves, famous landmarks are currently interesting destinations, attracting domestic and international tourists.

In recent years, the 6 provinces of Viet Bac have actively cooperated, linked, developed economy , society, culture, and tourism to exploit the natural landscape value and cultural heritage values ​​of the provinces in the region. "With a total natural area of ​​over 37.2 km2 and a population of over 4.5 million people, the provinces of Viet Bac have many similarities in natural conditions, economy, culture, society, and potential and advantages to develop tourism and develop typical, indigenous products associated with each locality" - Mr. Nong Quang Nhat emphasized.

The leaders of Bac Kan province affirmed that the OCOP Agricultural Products and Culinary Culture Festival of 6 Viet Bac provinces in 2024 in Bac Kan city is a place where people and tourists can experience and enjoy culinary flavors imbued with famous regional identities, choose OCOP products, typical rural industrial products, characteristic products, strengths of the provinces, and at the same time create conditions for enterprises, cooperatives, rural industrial establishments, production and business establishments of 6 Viet Bac provinces to meet, exchange, interact, learn, share experiences, and learn about market information.

“The event aims to introduce and promote OCOP products, typical rural industrial products as well as specialties of 6 Viet Bac provinces to businesses, distributors and a large number of consumers, contributing to promoting the general economic development of Viet Bac provinces in general and Bac Kan province in particular” – Vice Chairman of Bac Kan Provincial People's Committee affirmed.

Products displayed, promoted and introduced at the Festival are mainly OCOP products, typical rural industrial products, craft villages, and regional specialties.

The OCOP Agricultural Products and Culinary Culture Festival of 6 Northern Provinces in 2024 will take place from August 24 to 28, 2024 (5 days) at the Bac Kan Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center. The event has a scale of 2 areas, with 70 booths. The products displayed, promoted and introduced at the Festival are mainly OCOP products, typical rural industrial products, craft villages, regional specialties...

Mr. Ha Sy Thang, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Kan, said that the products and goods participating in the exhibition, introduction and promotion of businesses and OCOP entities this time are very diverse, rich, ensuring standards and quality according to regulations and have clear origins, ensuring food hygiene and safety.

Visiting and shopping at the Festival, Ms. Nong Thi Hoa (Bac Kan city) said that this fair has a very diverse range of products, especially many specialty products from provinces such as Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Lang Son... "I heard that Cao Bang's Phuc Sen knife products are very good, so I just bought one to try" - Ms. Hoa shared.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoan, Director of Tai Hoan Cooperative (Bac Kan) - said that over the past month, the cooperative's vermicelli production facility has increased its production capacity to regularly supply the export market to Europe, the market inside and outside the province, and also prepared more goods to bring to the OCOP Agricultural Products Festival products with the best designs and quality.

“In 2024, the cooperative's vermicelli products will continue to be recognized as national 5-star OCOP products; one of the five typical rural industrial products in the Northern region in 2024. It is even more honorable to be selected as one of the representatives of the district's OCOP brand to participate in the OCOP Agricultural Products Festival. Therefore, we have carefully prepared the products to participate in the Festival and hope to have more customers inside and outside the province know about them" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoan shared.
