Hanoi promotes OCOP products on e-commerce platforms.

Digital connection brings OCOP products further

Putting "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) products on e-commerce platforms for promotion and consumption connection, thereby bringing outstanding benefits in terms of cost, operational efficiency and competitiveness, is one of the effective methods currently applied by many localities and businesses.

As the leading locality in the country in terms of the number of OCOP products with 3,463 products achieving 3-5 stars, many of which have been exported to demanding international markets, since 2020, Hanoi has coordinated with e-commerce platforms such as Postmart, Voso, Shopee, Tiki, Lazada to support OCOP entities to sell online.

Some typical OCOP products of Hanoi are available in the digital environment such as Minh Hang frozen green rice (Me Tri village), Phu Vinh bamboo and rattan products (Chuong My), Bat Trang ceramics... These are all traditional products that have been certified with 3-5 star OCOP, have advantages in cultural identity and meet modern consumer needs well.

MD Queens Joint Stock Company General Director Trinh Thi Kim Thu shared: In the 4.0 era, if not digitally transformed, the company will be limited to local sales or through intermediaries. Thanks to the application of technology, we can now reach customers nationwide quickly and conveniently. In addition, the company also applies technology to implement promotional programs to target customers.

Similarly, in Chuong My, Chuc Son Clean Vegetable and Fruit Cooperative specializes in growing and supplying clean vegetables and spices according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP processes. Talking about the application of digital transformation in production, Director of Chuc Son Clean Vegetable and Fruit Cooperative Hoang Van Tham said: The unit has applied iMetos weather warning station and eGAP technology cluster (traceability), helping member households manage and monitor production; adjust seeding plans and vegetable care processes in a timely manner when the weather changes. The cooperative has also built a QR code system on each product to help consumers trace the origin...

It can be seen that the combination of traditional agricultural techniques and digital technology is the direction to help cooperatives improve productivity, make product information transparent and meet strict standards from the modern market. Thanks to that, agricultural production is more efficient, customers are more confident when using the products.

Not only in the production and processing of agricultural products, in traditional craft villages, digital transformation is also a trend of craft villages. The owner of Vinh Linh fine art wooden furniture production facility (Phu Xuyen commune) Nguyen Van Vinh informed: Previously, our sales depended largely on traders. Now, thanks to the support from authorities at all levels, we confidently step into the digital platform, products are promoted quickly, the rate of orders via e-commerce currently accounts for 60%, even at times reaching 80% of total orders. This is a great step forward, helping the facility not only sell products, but also build a long-term brand.

Increase the availability of agricultural products on e-commerce platforms

In fact, over the past time, the OCOP Program has created a strong driving force for the development of the rural economy in the direction of goods, increasing production value based on regional identity. Many products have initially met the strict requirements of the market. However, up to now, the development of OCOP products still has many limitations: OCOP enterprises are mainly small and medium enterprises, especially cooperatives, at that time the ability to apply information technology was not yet popular, there was a lack of qualified human resources, and a lack of understanding of the processes and regulations for transactions on e-commerce platforms...

According to Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Ta Van Tuong, digital transformation in agriculture has brought many benefits such as accurate market demand forecasting, reducing production costs, optimizing operations... In particular, digital transformation not only helps to perform tasks that are difficult for humans to do, but also creates a lot of added value, bringing agricultural products to consumers quickly, safely at reasonable prices...

Also according to Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Ta Van Tuong, in order to effectively implement the Hanoi City Digital Transformation Program towards 2030, thereby promoting digital transformation in the agricultural sector, in the coming time, the capital's agricultural sector will continue to propagate and guide enterprises, cooperatives, cooperative groups, and farms in the area to install and use software to standardize production processes, transparent information, encrypt, and export QR codes to trace the origin, thereby helping to improve productivity, quality, value and promote the consumption of agricultural products. At the same time, continue to coordinate with departments, branches, and localities to increase the sale of agricultural products on e-commerce platforms...
