Opening of the 25th World Children's Day

(Fatherland) - On the evening of May 30, 2024, at the Square of the Administrative Center of Me Linh District, Hanoi City, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism directed the Vietnam Exhibition Center for Culture and Arts to coordinate with the People's Committee of Me Linh District to organize the opening ceremony of the 25th World Children's Festival - 2024, on the occasion of International Children's Day June 1 and the Month of Action for Children with the theme "Practical action, prioritizing resources for children".

This is an annual activity held with the desire to create a cultural, recreational, and healthy entertainment venue with high educational value for children during the summer.

Attending the opening ceremony of the Festival were comrades: Associate Professor, Dr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Ta Van Ha - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture and Education; Bui Tuan Quang - Deputy Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization; Bui Hoang Phuong - Deputy Minister of Information and Communications and leaders of Central Departments, offices, institutes, branches... Delegates from Hanoi City and Me Linh District attending the opening ceremony included comrades Nguyen Van Phong - Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee; Nguyen Thanh Liem - Secretary of the Me Linh District Party Committee; Nguyen Anh Tuan - Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Council; Hoang Anh Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee; representatives of leaders of Hanoi City Departments and branches; comrades in the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, leaders of the People's Council, People's Committee of Me Linh District...

“This is a cultural activity to create a useful, healthy, educational playground for teenagers and children every summer. It actively contributes to the implementation of the Party and State's policy on the National Action Program for Children; enhances the responsibility of the social community in protecting, caring for, and educating children; strengthens the close connection between children, families and communities in the cause of cultivating people. In particular, the Festival is held in Me Linh district, the homeland of the heroic Hai Ba Trung, a land with a rich history, culture, and revolutionary tradition, with poetic beauty filled with the fragrance and colors of the June flower season" - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong said at the opening ceremony.

On this occasion, leaders of the Central Government, Hanoi City and Me Linh District presented 90 gifts to disadvantaged children who have excelled in their studies.

Children enthusiastically interacted with People's Artist Xuan Bac.

The festival was organized with rich content, experiential programs, and exciting competitions for children. The photo exhibition "Uncle Ho with Children" introduced 70 photos of Uncle Ho with children in beautiful and meaningful moments. These are simple and familiar images, his affection, care, attention, and education are forever engraved, becoming invaluable assets for the young generations of Vietnam. And it is even more meaningful when the exhibition was held in Me Linh district, the first place in the country to build a statue of Uncle Ho in 1969 when he passed away, named Hill 79 Spring.

At the exhibition area, the highly awarded entries of children participating in the 2024 Stamp Collection and Research Contest with the theme "70 years of the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu through postage stamps" and the Exhibition "Paintings by teenagers and children about the Dien Bien Phu Victory and images of Dien Bien Phu today" will also be introduced. This is a practical activity to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).

Cultural and artistic performances with the participation of artists and comedians that children admire such as People's Artist Xuan Bac, People's Artist Tu Long, circus artists, puppets, performing arts, children's fashion... Through that, children can interact and discover many interesting things about the world of childhood.

The circus acts received enthusiastic response from the children.

During the Festival, the Organizing Committee offers children a series of experiential activities, creative entertainment, learning while playing - playing while learning, practicing life skills such as: fire safety, traffic safety, guiding children to love reading, love books, learn and experience their favorite sports, participate in circus performances with simple circus acts, child models; experience traditional professions... Along with that is a children's play area with outdoor exercise equipment, recycled, creative, environmentally friendly toys, folk games...

The 25th World Children's Day - 2024 is held daily from 8:30 am to 9:30 pm from May 30 to June 2, 2024 at the Administrative Center Square and the Cultural, Information and Sports Center of Me Linh District. All activities are completely free for children to participate in, have fun and experience.
