Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Ha Van Sieu emphasized: "The Vietnam Tourism Award is a noble award, contributing to affirming the position of the tourism industry in the national economy and encouraging and motivating the continuous efforts of units operating in this field."

2025 marks the 20th time the Vietnam Tourism Awards are held, coinciding with many important historical events: the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Cultural Sector and especially the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Tourism Industry (1960 - 2025).

The award ceremony will take place on the morning of September 27 at Vin Palace Co Loa Convention Center (Hanoi) on World Tourism Day, with the message responding to the trend of "transforming sustainable tourism" launched by the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism). The event will be broadcast live on VTV1 channel.

According to the Organizing Committee, this year's Awards honor units in 11 categories, with 18 titles: From travel businesses, accommodation facilities, event venues, tourist transportation, restaurants, spas, health care, community tourism destinations, creative products, golf courses, media agencies to tourism training facilities.

Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Trung Khanh said: “The evaluation criteria are specifically developed, objective and transparent. The profiles of the participating units are certified by local management agencies, ensuring that they honestly reflect the capacity, scale and achievements in tourism activities.”

The Vietnam Tourism Awards 2025 took place after a 5-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The re-organization of the awards is an opportunity to honor and encourage businesses that have overcome difficulties, maintained operations, and innovated to meet the needs of tourists in the context of a volatile economy.

“This year’s categories are diverse, suitable for both large-scale enterprises and small and medium-sized units, especially in the fields of restaurants, community tourism, and creative products. This is also a testament to the flexibility and openness of the award in accompanying different types of tourism businesses,” said Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh.

In addition, golf tourism, one of the products highly appreciated internationally, also has its own category, to affirm Vietnam's competitive advantage in attracting high-end tourists.

According to the leader of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the current trend of tourism development is towards green, sustainable tourism, responsible to the community and the environment; at the same time, applying technology and innovation. These criteria have been integrated throughout the award regulations this year.

The award not only honors outstanding units, but also creates opportunities for connection between management agencies, professional associations, businesses, training institutions and the press, joining hands to promote the development of the tourism industry. This is also an opportunity to promote the image of Vietnam as a friendly, safe, attractive destination, ready to welcome international tourists.

In particular, the accompanying role of the press is emphasized. Thanks to active communication, the image of Vietnamese tourism in recent times has been strongly spread on domestic and foreign media channels, enhancing the position of Vietnamese tourism on the regional and world map.

According to the Organizing Committee, the Vietnam Tourism Awards 2025 aims at many strategic goals: Improving service quality, diversifying products, encouraging investment in tourism vocational education, and honoring sustainable and environmentally friendly development models.

This is in line with the policy of making tourism a key economic sector, associated with the preservation and promotion of cultural values, while contributing to the protection of the ecological environment. Enterprises are encouraged to build brands, innovate products and improve professionalism to integrate deeply into the international market.

The process of selecting the winning units is conducted seriously and publicly, with the participation of a review board consisting of representatives of state management agencies, professional associations and experts in the industry. The strict and transparent criteria ensure the fairness and prestige of the award.

Over the years, the Vietnam Tourism Awards have become a “reputation measure” of the tourism industry. The businesses and organizations honored are all exemplary units, having a positive influence on building the Vietnamese tourism brand.

The results were achieved thanks to the attention and close direction of the Party, State and Government; the coordination of ministries, branches and localities; the companionship of associations, press agencies and above all the unceasing efforts of the tourism business community.
