On November 4, Quang Ngai Provincial Police, Dung Quat Economic Zone Management Board and Quang Ngai Province Industrial Parks, Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Quang Ngai Provincial People's Procuracy and relevant agencies came to inspect and examine the scene, collect information and evidence to serve the investigation of the fire and explosion that burned 9 workers at Dung Quat Shipyard, belonging to Dung Quat Shipbuilding Industry Company Limited (DQS Company).

According to DQS Company, the accident occurred at 1:25 p.m. on November 3, when workers from the Pipe Workshop - Ship Equipment Workshop - Manufacturing Plant were performing welding and cutting work at the bottom of the pump room of the MT Legend oil tanker. During the work, a fire and explosion occurred at the Void tank at the bottom of the pump room, causing burns to the workers.
Authorities entered the MT Legend ship to check.
Through initial assessment, the cause could be due to the oil pipeline valve leaking into the Void tank, at the same time the workers were doing the work causing the fire, oil vapors generated in the previously opened empty tank flew up and met the spark causing the explosion.
The MT Legend oil tanker of Thang Long Gas Company docked at Dung Quat port and entered the dock for repairs on October 30. This ship has a capacity of 65,000 tons, a length of 251 meters and a width of more than 43 meters.
The area where the explosion occurred has been temporarily closed for repairs. On deck, workers continue to repair the MT Legend.

As Thanh Nien reported, in Dung Quat Economic Zone (Quang Ngai), a fire and explosion occurred at DQS Company, causing 9 workers to be burned, 3 of whom were seriously burned. These workers are currently being treated at Da Nang General Hospital.
