The Quintessence of Bloom - Tinh Uyen Phuong Hoa is an exclusive art exhibition organized by VPBank . Taking place on the 25th floor of the Financial Centre building on the Saigon River, the event is only open to VPBank's invited high-end customers.

In stark contrast to the bustling life outside, The Quintessence of Bloom is like another dimension, poetic and emotional, where delicate light blends with elaborate floral arrangements, exuding a pure fragrance. The center of this visual feast is The Infinity Garden by Harijanto Setiawan - a floral installation with a strong architectural and contemporary aesthetic.

On the spiral structure of metal, light and shimmering threads, each flower cluster is meticulously interwoven, changing from warm to bright colors, creating a surreal garden. The exhibition space is covered with thousands of tiny laser dots, mixed with a misty mist, creating a visually overwhelming feeling while touching the most delicate emotions, blurring the boundaries between reality and fantasy, between the finite and the infinite.

Harijanto Setiawan is more than just a floral designer. He is a living icon of contemporary floral art, who has brought the Haribana style – a subtle fusion of Japanese Ikebana and architectural design – to international prominence.

With a series of prestigious awards, including the title of Designer of the Year from the President of Singapore, his name is an inspiration for flower lovers around the world. The Infinity Garden is a unique work that Harijanto created exclusively for Tinh Tuyen Phuong Hoa and Vietnamese art lovers. This is truly an experience that not everyone has the opportunity to admire.

Mr. Harijanto Setiawan had a sharing session about this special feeling.

- Hello Mr. Harijanto Setiawan, first of all, let me express my admiration for the masterpiece The Infinity Garden . Could you share more about this work?

Mr. Harijanto Setiawan : I believe that sometimes, encounters in art are due to fate. When Ms. Phuong Krystine Nguyen from LitiFlorist (curator of the exhibition) contacted me to share the ideas that VPBank wanted to do with The Quintessence of Bloom , I immediately felt in sync.

This bank is not only about finance or assets, but also conveys a philosophy of life - where style, sophistication and sustainable human values ​​are honored. I think that is also what I always seek in art. The Infinity Garden was thus formed as a common language, where flowers, light and emotions blend to tell the story of eternal beauty.

This work is inspired by the infinite spiral - a symbol of life, of the journey of refinement to find true value. The finished product is the crystallization of many rare flowers selected around the world, typically Gloriosa Superba - a flower shaped like a reaching hand, symbolizing the desire to live and Clematis - a fragile but proud purple flower, symbolizing romance and knowledge.

The combination of strong and soft flowers creates a harmonious and contrasting whole. I used LED lights, lasers and smoke to create a visual effect of being immersed in a galaxy, a dream where flowers and technology coexist.

I want people who enter the garden to not only see the flowers, but also feel their energy. Each color, each light represents a human mood. Life is short, so I want the work to remind people to enjoy every moment - even if it is just a single blooming flower.

- The Infinity Garden uses many rare flowers from many countries. Preserving and transporting them must have been a big challenge?

Mr. Harijanto Setiawan : Yes, to complete The Infinity Garden , we had to work almost continuously for many weeks. Flowers were selected from all over the world and transported to Vietnam under strict temperature and humidity control to ensure freshness.

When we arrived in Vietnam, my team continued to treat each flower with a specialized nutrient solution, then tested them to check their reaction to the tropical climate. We even had to test the lighting several times to ensure the flower colors would not be “burned” when combined with the LED system.

I often jokingly say that a large-scale floral work is like a living architectural work. It cannot be wrong in even the smallest detail, because each flower has its own “spirit”. And what moves me most is that, despite having to travel thousands of kilometers and many days, those flowers still bloom at the right time, as if they also understand that they are participating in a special journey.

- What is the most important thing when creating with flowers, sir?

Mr. Harijanto Setiawan : It is emotion. Flowers are not just objects, they carry energy, memories and emotions. If you put too much anger into flowers, you will not be able to create a beautiful work. Flowers feel your energy. Before making others happy with flowers, you must be happy first.

For my students, I don’t want to teach them how to arrange flowers, I want to teach them how to love flowers. Technique can be learned in a few months, but emotion takes a lifetime. I always tell my students: “ Don’t try to be the best, be the most sincere .”

- How do you think your work is received by art lovers in Vietnam?

Mr. Harijanto Setiawan : This is a selective event, organized exclusively for VPBank Private customers - those who belong to the elite class and possess a deep sense of art. Therefore, I feel extremely happy that The Infinity Garden is warmly welcomed.
