Khanh Hoa: People hand over 2m long python

On the morning of October 18, Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Nha Trang Ward (Khanh Hoa Province) said that the people had brought the captured python to the ward headquarters to hand it over.

After identifying this as a python near Nha Trang Tourist Wharf on October 17, the Ward People's Committee completed the procedures to receive it. The python is in normal condition; it has now been handed over to the Nha Trang - Dien Khanh Forest Protection Department.

As reported by SGGP, at noon on October 17, some drivers discovered a python about 2 meters long lying on a tree on the sidewalk, close to the parking lot of the wharf. Many residents and tourists were scared.

At around 4:30 p.m. the same day, a group of people nearby used sticks and nooses to catch and carry the python away. Many people suspected that this was a python species listed in the Red Book. The authorities have not yet announced the origin of this animal.
