Inauguration of the Memorial House of Major General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Pham Xuan An

On October 23, Ho Chi Minh City, General Department II (Ministry of National Defense) and Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank) held the inauguration ceremony of the Memorial House of Major General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Pham Xuan An.

Attending the inauguration ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Standing member of the 14th Congress Document Subcommittee, former Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Tran Hoang Kiem, Head of Department 3 of the Central Internal Affairs Committee; Duong Anh Duc, Standing member of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, sent congratulatory flowers.

At the ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Duc Loi, Political Commissar of General Department II, emphasized that over the past 80 years, the Defense Intelligence Service has grown and matured continuously, achieving many outstanding achievements, contributing with the entire Party, people and army to successfully carry out the task of national liberation, building and firmly protecting the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam and fulfilling its noble international obligations.

To have that tradition, 1,141 martyrs have devoted their whole lives to the intelligence industry, to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. Along with that, 276 wounded soldiers, nearly 1,000 officers and soldiers of the National Defense Intelligence Service who were detained and imprisoned by the enemy were brave, loyal, and sacrificed part of their blood and bones to make the national flag more beautiful.

In that proud silent feat, today's generation of defense intelligence will never forget the shining example of Major General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Pham Xuan An.

Major General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Pham Xuan An left a great legacy for future generations of officers, employees and intelligence soldiers. That is revolutionary ideals, patriotism and absolute loyalty to the organization. That is also the spirit of dedication, honesty in work and the pure personality, full of compassion of the Vietnamese people.

Mr. Pham Xuan Hoang An, son of Major General, People's Armed Forces Hero Pham Xuan An, expressed his pride and emotion when recalling his father's outstanding intelligence achievements. He sent his sincere thanks for the attention and facilitation of Ho Chi Minh City, units under the Ministry of National Defense , sponsors... who joined hands to build the memorial house. This is an extremely meaningful project, an honor for the family and the clan.

The memorial house of Major General, People's Armed Forces Hero Pham Xuan An in Tan Nhut Commune (HCMC) is invested by Department 12, General Department II (Ministry of National Defense). The total investment cost is over 11 billion VND.

The project started in June and will be completed in October 2025; the main items are the memorial house and auxiliary works.

The memorial house outlines the process of building, fighting and winning of the National Defense Intelligence Force in the struggle for national liberation and reunification; at the same time, it deeply introduces the life, career and example of Major General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Pham Xuan An.
