This year, 21 years old, in poor health, Mr. Tran Viet Thanh in Dong Tien commune never thought that he would go to vocational classes to have the opportunity to find a job. However, in early 2025, with the encouragement of the locality and family, he boldly registered to participate in the civil electrical repair vocational training organized by the Center for Social Work - Vocational Education for the Disabled in Dong Tien commune. Here, Mr. Thanh and others in the same situation had the opportunity to realize their dreams. Mr. Tran Viet Thanh shared: "I find the civil electrical profession very suitable and after finishing school, I want to have a stable job."

To facilitate access to jobs for people with disabilities, in recent years, in addition to opening concentrated vocational training classes, the Center for Social Work - Vocational Education for People with Disabilities has also maintained regular vocational classes in the locality. Using village halls as classrooms makes it convenient for students to travel; those with poor health are picked up and taken care of by relatives every day, so their studies are not affected.

Mr. Tran Xuan Linh, Kien Thanh village, Dong Loc commune, whose relatives attended the sewing class at the commune, also has high expectations for the training results of the center. Mr. Linh wishes: "After learning the profession, I hope that my family members and disabled students will have the opportunity to join garment companies in the province."

Village and residential area assembly halls are chosen as locations for local vocational training classes.

For vocational training classes for people with disabilities in the community, the Center for Social Work - Vocational Education for People with Disabilities has also paid special attention to the characteristics of the situation and employment needs of the locality. Localities near industrial zones focus on training in sewing and electricity, while areas with advantages in traditional occupations focus on occupations such as weaving, broom making, etc. This has helped people with disabilities have more opportunities to access jobs after finishing the course.

The product is completed by disabled people who have completed the course.

Ha Tinh currently has 64,407 people with disabilities (accounting for 4.95% of the total population), of which 24,422 are severely disabled and 6,010 are extremely severely disabled. Clearly defining the implementation of policies for people with disabilities does not stop at ensuring subsidy regimes, Ha Tinh also focuses on supporting vocational training and job referrals, every year hundreds of people with disabilities are trained and referred to jobs.

Mr. Thai Ngoc Lam, Director of the Center for Social Work - Vocational Education for the Disabled in Ha Tinh shared: “After the course, we continue to work with labor supply units, factories and enterprises that need to recruit workers so that the students can find jobs that suit their health and aspirations as well as those of their families. In the period of 2021-2024, the Center alone has recruited and provided vocational training to nearly 500 students with disabilities who are capable of vocational training in the following classes: office informatics, industrial sewing, civil electrical repair, rattan and bamboo weaving and has contacted companies and production and business establishments to introduce jobs to 113 students. Since the beginning of 2025, 22 students have been accepted to work at businesses and production establishments.”

It can be said that the efforts in vocational training for people with disabilities in Ha Tinh in general and vocational training for people with disabilities in the community in particular not only help them improve their income but more importantly, arouse their confidence, determination and aspiration to rise up, contributing to building a humane, integrated and sustainably developed society.
