Recorded on organic farm

An Farm Hoi An is a green farm of about 3,000m2 located at 633 Nguyen Tat Thanh (Hoi An Tay ward). The farm grows a variety of vegetables, fruits, herbs, local and foreign herbs completely according to natural organic processes.

The project is the passion of Ms. Le Pham Thien Hang - a master's degree in food technology, nutritionist and passionate about herbal research.

At An Farm Hoi An, MSc. Thien Hang is organically cultivating dandelions, lemongrass, ginger, yellow turmeric, black turmeric, etc. To promote the growth of vegetables, herbs, and medicinal herbs, the farm uses organic fertilizers made from duckweed, cow manure, and earthworms.

Ms. Thien Hang harvests the above fruits and vegetables to process them into flower tea, yellow turmeric powder, black turmeric powder, ginger powder, stevia powder, dandelion tea, etc. to sell on the market. She attaches a QR code to each product so that customers can trace its origin and use it with peace of mind.

MSc. Thien Hang has coordinated with major travel agencies such as EXO Travel, Discova, and Casia Travel to bring foreign tourists to visit organic farms. During the tour, tourists are given specific explanations about vegetables, their uses, how to grow them, organic methods, and enjoy processed herbs and spices.

“I have had the opportunity to travel and experience the countryside and agriculture in many countries around the world . However, no place has brought me as much excitement as An Farm Hoi An organic farm. I will use herbs and medicinal herbs in cooking, tea, cosmetics, spices, essential oils... to improve the health of myself and my family,” said tourist Madolline Gourley from Australia.

At An Farm Hoi An, there is an area for drying herbs and medicinal herbs using solar energy, an area for processing herbs and medicinal herbs by hand, completely without using any preservatives. In addition, An Farm Hoi An also conducts programs to share about organic agriculture, the value of herbs, and how to apply herbs to improve the health of students and local people.

Inevitable trend

Our country's agricultural sector has clearly defined its vision for 2030 as creating a digital agricultural environment and ecosystem as a foundation; promoting the transformation from agricultural production to agricultural economy; developing towards smart, organic, safe, precise agriculture, with traceability and product transparency.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City has oriented to restructure the agricultural production sector towards modernity, traceability, improving productivity, competitiveness, creating key, unique, organic products, integrating multi-value, food safety and serving tourism. This is the guideline for the city's agricultural sector to develop sustainable agriculture, increase value, and find export directions for agricultural products.

Product transparency is the top factor for agricultural products and food to be chosen by consumers, especially foreign customers. Therefore, for each product sold, individuals and organizations need to attach a traceability code on the packaging.

Consumers can scan the code to get full information about the purchased item, tracing back from the final product to the original place of production. This is a key factor in convincing domestic and international consumers to use agricultural products in the city.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vu, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, said that agricultural products with traceable origins will protect brands, enhance the value of businesses and production facilities by increasing competitiveness, and stimulate consumers to buy and use products. This is also the foundation for developing markets for agricultural products, especially exporting goods to the world market.
