Reprimand 1 teacher

TPO - Ms. Ngo Thi Tuyet, a teacher at Ngoc Lac High School ( Thanh Hoa ) was disciplined with a reprimand in the case of recording wrong scores, causing a student to fail the 10th grade entrance exam at Le Hong Phong High School.

Regarding the mistaken recording of the exam score of a candidate taking the entrance exam to Le Hong Phong High School (Bim Son town, Thanh Hoa) for the 2024-2025 school year, from valedictorian to failing grade 10, the Department of Education and Training (DET) has sent a report explaining the incident to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Education and Training .

According to the report, the above incident did not happen because of the teacher marking the test but because the scoring team of the Ngoc Lac High School Examination Council mistakenly scored the CTH candidate in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year and the responsibility also belongs to the Chairman of the Examination Council.

Inspectors from the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training also worked with the family, the Examination Board and the teachers directly involved and confirmed that there was no negativity in this incident.

Immediately after the announcement of the conclusion of the Department Inspectorate, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa directed Le Hong Phong High School to have the Admissions Council and re-examine candidates for CTH in accordance with regulations. Accordingly, CTH candidates did not have enough points to be admitted to Le Hong Phong High School.

On September 26, 2024, Le Hong Phong High School invited representatives of CTH students' families to send notices of admission results to grade 10 of the school.

Regarding the review of the responsibility of the Examination Board of Ngoc Lac High School, the Department of Education and Training has issued a notice directing Ngoc Lac High School to organize a review of the responsibility of the staff and teachers directly related to this error. On October 9, 2024, Ngoc Lac High School organized a review council to review the responsibility of the related members.

As a result, disciplinary action in the form of reprimand was taken against Ms. Ngo Thi Tuyet, a teacher at Ngoc Lac High School. Reviewing and drawing lessons from the staff and teachers of Ngoc Lac High School, including: Mr. Vu Ngoc Liem, Principal of Ngoc Lac High School; Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh, Vu Thi Thuy, and Tran Thi Tu, all teachers at Ngoc Lac High School.

From the above incident, the Department of Education and Training seriously learned from experience in directing and managing exams more closely, improving the responsibility of staff, strictly implementing exam regulations and instructions, and avoiding unfortunate mistakes.

Previously, after receiving feedback, the Inspector of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa checked and reviewed the test scores of CTH candidates and the examination board of Le Hong Phong High School. The results of the check and comparison of CTH candidates' test scores: Math: score on the score sheet is 4.5; score on the test paper is 4.5; score on the score sheet is 8.0. Literature: score on the score sheet is 6.5; score on the test paper is 6.5; score on the score sheet is 8.5. English: score on the score sheet is 2.4; score on the test paper is 2.4; score on the score sheet is 6.4.
