According to the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control in Vietnam, refractive errors in schoolchildren are becoming a health concern, with about 5 million school-age children (accounting for 30-40% of the total number of children in this age group) suffering from refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism.
Myopia is the most common refractive error in school-age children. If not treated properly, it can affect the child's ability to learn, live and develop comprehensively.
Besides genetic factors, there are many other causes of myopia in school-age children such as poor learning conditions, unsafe living space, or continuous use of electronic devices for long periods of time.
