Construction of An Bien - Rach Gia coastal bridge worth nearly 4,000 billion VND started

TPO - On the morning of September 30, the People's Committee of An Giang province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the bridge project on the coastal road connecting An Bien - Rach Gia, with an investment capital of nearly 4,000 billion VND. This is a key project to welcome the 1st An Giang Provincial Party Congress (term 2025 - 2030), towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ngo Cong Thuc - Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee - affirmed that the project is a key traffic project, of strategic significance in socio -economic development, strengthening national defense and security of An Giang and the Southwest region.

Mr. Thuc requested that, during the implementation process, the Department of Construction closely coordinates with departments, branches, localities, construction units, design consultants, supervision consultants and related units to support, promptly handle difficulties and problems, closely monitor and urge the implementation progress, ensuring the project is completed on schedule and meets quality standards.

An Bien - Rach Gia coastal bridge is 2.8km long, with 6 lanes, total investment capital of more than 3,900 billion VND.

According to Mr. Le Viet Bac - Director of An Giang Department of Construction, the bridge design was inspired by the "legendary hair" of the People's Armed Forces heroine Phan Thi Rang, with soft curves reflecting on the surface of the West Sea. When completed, the project will become a new symbol of An Giang, both carrying architectural and cultural values and contributing to expanding the development space towards the sea.

On this occasion, the Joint Contractors presented 20 solidarity houses to poor households in Rach Gia, Chau Doc, Long Xuyen and Tay Yen, with a total value of 1.4 billion VND.
