Groundbreaking ceremony of Hanoi Opera House and thematic cultural and art park

Hanoi Opera House and thematic cultural and art park are built in the center of Quang An peninsula (Tay Ho ward), with a total investment of more than 12,000 billion VND, on a land area of ​​more than 19 hectares.

On the morning of October 5, the Hanoi People's Committee coordinated with Sun Group to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the Hanoi Opera House and thematic cultural and artistic park in the Dam Tri lake area, Quang An peninsula (Tay Ho ward). This is a key project in the cluster of works celebrating the 71st anniversary of the Liberation of the capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2025).

According to Mr. Dang Minh Truong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sun Group, the groundbreaking ceremony marks the cooperation of the city and the business community in the journey to create a creative, civilized, modern, and internationally-recognized Hanoi .

Hanoi Opera House will be a new “art cathedral” of the Capital, on par with famous works in the world. Hanoi Opera House will also contribute to positioning the city on the world cultural map, becoming a destination for international friends to come and experience the Capital that is growing strongly in the new era.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Duong Duc Tuan, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, said that the investment project to build Hanoi Opera House and thematic cultural and art park has a total capital of more than 12,000 billion VND, on a land area of ​​more than 19 hectares.

The project includes a modern, multi-purpose Hanoi Opera House with a capacity of more than 2,000 seats, serving major cultural and political events of the capital; along with a specialized cultural and artistic park, meeting the creative, enjoyment and entertainment needs of the people, and at the same time being a highlight to attract domestic and foreign tourists.

“When completed, the Hanoi Opera House and the thematic cultural and art park will contribute to changing the appearance, enhancing the value of the area and becoming an international cultural and tourist destination,” said Mr. Tuan.

“This is also a place to spread Vietnamese cultural values ​​and Vietnamese talents to the world. We hope this is proof of the beginning, to have more modern cultural works, so that the capital Hanoi is worthy of being a civilized, modern, green and beautiful capital,” said Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang.
