The third solo exhibition with the theme of The Secret Garden with many innovations in her writing style and deeper inner changes and growth, artist Vu Bich Thuy wants to share with the public of Ho Chi Minh City, at Eight Gallery.

More than 20 new works created in the period 2024 - 2025, most of which were done on Duplex paper - a new material for Vu Bich Thuy, with two basic sizes 60x80cm and 30x40cm.

According to the organizer, with an abstract brushwork, the artist creates fragile, overlapping layers of color, evoking a multidimensional space and many emotional ranges, from bright and radiant to calm.

The paintings in this exhibition will lead viewers into a gentle garden, a morning still wet with night dew…

Collector Tran Hau Tuan is very impressed with Vu Bich Thuy's abstract acrylic paintings, faithful to the elegant color palette: light blue, gray, light yellow, light red... full of femininity.

He was even more surprised when Vu Bich Thuy used a rich color palette, she did not hesitate to place colors in contrasting correlations while still maintaining a strong feminine character.

The light purple and pink patches or the green brush strokes create a very cute and feminine chord.

Anyone who saw the exhibition Beyond the windowsill in 2018 will see that the lines are often blurred to remove all edges, making the work softer, gentler, and more reminiscent of Hanoi's autumn atmosphere.

The paintings are expressed with bold lines. The brushstrokes intertwine, overlap, and vie for space in a vibrant way, dotted with small dots like flower clusters and strong straight lines that evoke the image of a window overlooking a garden of memories.

Artist Vu Bich Thuy shared that recently she has begun to exploit the element of surprise to create spaces and blocks to tell new stories.

Vu Bich Thuy graduated with a master's degree from the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK), Germany in 1996.

She has participated in exhibitions of the Seagull Art Foundation, The International Women Space, and a creative camp in Neubrandenburg (Germany)...

She has participated in many group exhibitions and art events domestically, as well as in Singapore, Thailand, and Japan.

2019: First solo exhibition Outside the Window , Vietnam Fine Arts Museum (Hanoi).

2022: Second solo exhibition Tropical Taste , Art Space - Vietnam University of Fine Arts (Hanoi).
