Kim Thanh completed handing over the site of the National Highway 5 interchange

Kim Thanh district leaders surveyed plans to demolish and relocate assets for people whose land must be recovered to implement the National Highway 5 intersection project.

According to the People's Committee of Kim Thanh district, by February 21, the district had completed handing over the site to the contractor and construction unit to implement the project to build an interchange connecting National Highway 17B with National Highway 5, Hanoi - Hai Phong railway in Kim Xuyen commune, ensuring the right schedule.

Previously, to implement the above project, Kim Thanh district had to reclaim more than 15 hectares of residential and agricultural land from 291 organizations and individuals. Of which, there were more than 7.5 hectares of agricultural land, 7.26 hectares of residential land and other types of non-agricultural land. The total amount of money to pay for site clearance was initially estimated at more than 390 billion VND.

By early January 2025, Kim Thanh district had completed the site clearance work. However, households whose land had to be reclaimed had not yet settled down, had not yet relocated, and had not yet handed over the site.

By February 21, households with assets on the land had relocated and demolished the construction site, handing over the site to local authorities, contractors and construction units.

Up to now, 100% of households with assets on land have relocated, demolished the construction and handed over the site to local authorities, contractors and construction units.

To speed up the progress of site clearance and disbursement of public investment capital for the project, since mid-2024, the entire political system of Kim Thanh district has been involved in propagating and mobilizing households and organizations whose land has been recovered to agree and hand over the site. Relevant units urgently prepare documents, develop payment and compensation plans; and support people in demolishing and relocating their assets.

The Investment Project to build an interchange connecting National Highway 17B with National Highway 5, Hanoi - Hai Phong railway in Kim Xuyen commune, Kim Thanh district has a total investment of 1,867 billion VND (from the central budget and provincial budget). The project is invested by the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board.
