Voters of Kim Thanh district highly agreed with the plan to rearrange administrative units at the commune level. In the photo: The ballot distribution team of Dong Cam commune collected voters' opinions on the plan to rearrange administrative units at the commune and provincial levels.

According to the new naming method, Kim Thanh 1 commune was renamed Phu Thai commune, Kim Thanh 2 commune was renamed Lai Khe commune, Kim Thanh 3 commune was renamed An Thanh commune, and Kim Thanh 4 commune was renamed Kim Thanh commune.

The above names all suggest that this is a rich and peaceful land. Phu Thai is the center of Kim Thanh district, a familiar name, with a long history and approved by the Provincial People's Committee for development planning to become a type IV urban area. Retaining the name Phu Thai helps maintain local identity, avoiding disruption after arrangement and merger.

Lai Khe has traditional historical and cultural values associated with the event in 1946, after a visit to France, from Hai Phong to Hanoi by train, Uncle Ho stopped to wave goodbye to workers at Lai Khe station. Lai Khe is a developed economic area, planned to become a type V urban area.

Kim Thanh is a developed economic zone, adjacent to Hai Phong . An Thanh is a combination of the words "an" and "thanh" representing peace and success.
