Fintech “Unicorn” joins Au Lac AI Alliance, contributing to creating an AI ecosystem with Vietnamese identity

In the context that the Government has just issued Decision 1131/QD-TTg identifying AI as the top among 11 national strategic technology groups, the formation of public-private partnership alliances to promote the development of indigenous AI is an inevitable step.

On June 20, 2025, Au Lac AI Alliance was officially launched with the participation of more than 20 leading units in artificial intelligence in Vietnam, including leading technology businesses and startups such as: Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, MobiFone, VNPT, FPT, CMC , BKAV, MoMo, VNPAY, Zalo, AI For Vietnam, AI Hay, Finhay,... and academies and universities: Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, Academy of Cryptography Engineering, FPT University...

Notably, the presence of Fintech “Unicorns” like MoMo contributes to concretizing the Alliance’s goal of building large language models (LLMs) capable of processing Vietnamese accurately, naturally and in accordance with Vietnamese culture, thereby contributing to improving people’s knowledge and promoting the development of the national digital economy . Currently, MoMo has widely applied AI and natural language processing technology to its core products, serving more than 30 million users every day - from personalizing experiences, managing expenses, customer care to credit services.

“We believe that AI needs to be developed to solve specific problems that are close to the lives of Vietnamese people – from spending and saving to accessing credit. MoMo joins the Au Lac AI Alliance not only as a technology enterprise, but also as one of the domestic forces that is directly bringing AI into life, serving tens of millions of people every day,” said Mr. Nguyen Ba Diep, Co-founder of MoMo Financial Technology Group.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuong and MoMo's leadership team participated in forums and associations to closely accompany the State's policy-making process.

Participating in the Au Lac AI Alliance once again affirms MoMo's long-term and serious investment commitment in applying artificial intelligence to solve the practical financial and consumer needs of tens of millions of Vietnamese people.

In addition to developing the domestic AI ecosystem, MoMo is also actively participating in public-private partnership forums to accompany the State in the national policy-making process. Most recently, Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuong - Co-founder, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of MoMo - was appointed as one of 7 entrepreneurs to join the National Advisory Council on Science , Technology Development, Innovation and Digital Transformation.

This is not the first time MoMo has expressed its voice in contributing to national policy. Previously, Mr. Thai Tri Hung - MoMo's Technology Director - became a member of the Executive Committee of the National Data Association (2025-2030). This shows the recognition of state management agencies for MoMo's technological capacity and long-term, systematic commitment.

The above events are clear evidence of the influence and increasingly important role of domestic fintech enterprises such as MoMo in building and shaping national policies. At the same time, this also demonstrates the Government's openness in absorbing initiatives and practical experiences from the private sector. It is the close coordination between fintech enterprises, state management agencies and academia that will help Vietnam gradually improve its position in the field of artificial intelligence and digital technology on the world map.
