On September 14, Bac Ha District General Hospital ( Lao Cai province) shared a story that was considered a miracle, when a pregnant woman traveled 40km of forest road to the hospital to give birth.

Previously, on September 12, when showing signs of labor, pregnant woman STS (22 years old, residing in Nam Din village, Tan Tien commune, Bao Yen district) went to the commune health station for examination.

But due to an old cesarean scar, she could not give birth naturally at the medical station. At the same time, due to the rain and floods, the roads were cut off, so the couple had no other choice but to go through the forest and across the stream to Bac Ha District General Hospital to give birth.

After 14 hours (from 6am to 8pm) of crossing 40km of dangerous and slippery forest road, Ms. S. arrived at Bac Ha District General Hospital.

Ms. S. said that along the way, there were many landslides, but her mother's strong will helped her overcome them all. Every step was a challenge, but Ms. S. still tried to overcome it with her husband.

When arriving at the hospital, Ms. S. was exhausted, her legs were scratched and covered in mud. The doctors on duty quickly diagnosed her and performed emergency surgery.

After 30 tense minutes, the sound of a newborn baby crying rang out, the entire surgical team and the mother and her husband burst into joy.

The baby girl, pink in color, cried loudly, weighing 3kg. Ms. S. hugged her child, tears rolling down her cheeks...

Ms. S.'s bravery has made many people admire her. Doctor Sung Thi Sach - obstetrics department, Bac Ha District General Hospital - shared that Ms. S.'s story is not only a story of the devastation caused by Typhoon Yagi but also of the extraordinary willpower of a mother.
