Hanoi: Urgent medical support to overcome the consequences of rain, floods and inundation

The Hanoi Department of Health requested to increase medical support, prepare medicine and supplies, respond to floods, and protect public health from the consequences of storms and floods.

On October 11, the Hanoi Department of Health informed that the Department had sent urgent dispatch No. 514/SYT-NVY to the People's Committees of wards and communes and public and non-public medical units under the Department of Health regarding medical support to overcome the consequences of storms, heavy rains, flash floods, landslides, and flooding in the city.

To provide timely professional support to medical facilities, the Department of Health requests the People's Committees of wards and communes and requires public and non-public medical units under the Department to continue to follow the direction on ensuring clean water, food safety and hygiene, environmental sanitation, disease prevention and control, waste management and medical response to storm No. 10 in 2025.

Hospitals are required to ensure regular work at four levels and strengthen disease prevention and control measures, ensure environmental hygiene and food safety in high-risk areas and areas affected by floods.

The Department of Health requires medical facilities to prepare medicines, chemicals, and medical supplies to respond to possible epidemic situations, to promptly treat patients; focus on treating injured people, promptly overcome consequences at units, and not allow interruptions in emergency care and treatment for people.

Relevant units closely monitor the development of natural disasters and floods in the area, especially the risk of localized flooding, landslides, flash floods in mountainous areas due to the impact of heavy rain after the storm to proactively deploy timely and effective response work according to the motto "4 on-site".

For seriously ill and critical patients, it is necessary to consult with leading specialists and set up online discussion groups (such as Zalo) between professional levels to receive timely support, diagnosis and treatment.

In case the patient is seriously ill and needs to be transferred to another hospital, based on the patient's condition and the weather (rain, flooding, etc.), the unit can transfer the patient to the nearest, suitable medical facility to ensure the patient's safety; Proactively move the patient to a safe place early if the facility is frequently flooded./.
