Lam Dong takes culture as the foundation for night-time economic development

On the morning of August 21, Mr. Dinh Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting to evaluate and orient the night-time economic development model.

In the past two years, developing the night economy has become a major orientation of the province. Implementing projects and plans, in the central wards of the two major urban areas of the province, many night economy models have been formed such as: Culinary streets, sightseeing, performing arts, entertainment, sports...

The report of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong also pointed out the limitations in the implementation process. In particular, the night-time economic models are still small and lack arrangement to form spaces and service chains. Infrastructure has not met the development requirements, there is a lack of lighting and essential infrastructure. The night street models do not have specific and clear products.

The night tour program has not been adequately invested in, and no nighttime destinations have been established. Promotion and tour connection activities have not been effective due to the lack of unique products...

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also proposed long-term solutions for developing the night-time economy in the coming time. In particular, it is necessary to build a strategy and project to develop the night-time economy, creating a foundation to attract investment for development. Concluding the meeting, Mr. Dinh Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. In particular, he emphasized that night-time economic development is a new type, associated with tourism.

He suggested that in the coming time, it is necessary to pay attention to expanding the space for night-time economic development in the areas of Gia Nghia, Bao Loc, Duc Trong, Lagi, etc.

At the same time, review the issue of night-time economic development, determine the direction of products that must be associated with natural advantages and cultural factors. In which, culture is the fundamental factor of the night-time economy. There, people are the subject, turning culture and natural advantages into products for sustainable development.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over and coordinate the development of a new master plan for night-time economic development. First, it is necessary to conduct a survey to select suitable spaces, products and models. Identify the forces participating in the night-time economy associated with cultural industries, tourism and urban planning.

In the immediate future, we will continue to encourage the development of existing night-time economic models on streets and in spaces. At the same time, we will encourage many households and businesses to create diverse products that attract tourists.
