Forging documents to benefit from insurance, clinic director in Dong Nai was prosecuted

(Dan Sinh) - The Investigation Police Agency (IPA), Long Thanh District Police (Dong Nai Province) has initiated a case and prosecuted Phan Ho Hoang Phuc (born in 1994, residing in Hamlet 2, Long An Commune) - Director of Y Thanh Tam General Clinic (address: Long Phuoc Commune, Long Thanh District) for the act of forging documents of agencies and organizations.

According to the Investigation Police Agency, previously, from the reflection of a number of businesses about employees being issued with inappropriate social insurance leave certificates, in June 2022, the Dong Nai Department of Health Inspectorate inspected and determined that the place that issued the leave certificates was Y Thanh Tam General Clinic.

During the inspection of the clinic, the Health Department Inspector discovered that there were many certificates of leave of absence for social insurance benefits with the names of doctors listed but not signed.

Dong Nai Department of Health has requested the clinic to stop operating, revoked its medical examination and treatment license and transferred the case to the police.

After receiving the dossier and conducting the investigation, on August 25, the Investigation Police Agency of Long Thanh District Police issued a decision to prosecute Phan Ho Hoang Phuc for the crime of Forging documents of agencies and organizations.

Regarding social insurance fraud, in June 2023, Bien Hoa City Police (Dong Nai Province) simultaneously searched 8 locations of 6 clinics, confiscating related papers, documents and machines.

During the search, the police seized hundreds of thousands of social insurance sick leave certificates, health examination certificates (with fake results and no information of the examinee), and many machines and documents related to medical examination and treatment activities at the clinics.

To date, Bien Hoa City Police have prosecuted 19 defendants, including 5 doctors of the clinics.
