Associations at all levels build and repair houses for members in difficult circumstances.

With the joint efforts of the community, the flexibility in mobilization and implementation, the Women's Union of Thuy Xuan Ward has built 17 shelters of love. The houses not only help stabilize housing but also give poor women more confidence and determination to rise up in life.

One of the touching cases is Ms. Pham Thi Thuy (Group 3), a poor single parent raising 4 children. Her family used to live in a dilapidated level 4 house, lacking everything. Thanks to timely support from the Women's Union and benefactors, she was able to build a new, spacious and solid house. Ms. Thuy's two children were also sponsored by the Women's Union with a support level of 700,000 VND/month, helping Ms. Thuy have more expenses for their children's education and living.

During the year, the Ward Women's Union supported the construction of a warm home for Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, a member in particularly difficult circumstances. Ms. Hong herself is seriously ill and lives with her two children. Her children do not have stable jobs and the family's finances are extremely difficult. The newly handed over house is a solid shelter, helping her and her children feel more secure in their daily lives; it is also a motivation for her children to constantly strive to improve themselves.

“Without the help of the association at all levels, I would not dare to dream of a solid house; because we cannot even make enough money to build a house. Having a new home is the motivation for my children to strive for a better life,” Ms. Hong confided.

Not only supporting the construction of houses, the Women's Union also actively sponsors orphans and helps 5 humanitarian addresses in the ward. Notably, the situation of Mrs. Cai Viet Hoi, who unfortunately had a work accident, lost her ability to work, and had a very difficult life. Through activities of supporting cash and monthly necessities, the Women's Union of the ward has contributed to sharing the burden, helping Mrs. Hoi as well as other humanitarian addresses to reduce some of the difficulties in life.

Ms. Doan Thi My Hanh, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, President of the Women's Union of Thuy Xuan Ward shared: "We identify the work of supporting members as an important long-term task of the Women's Union of the ward as well as requiring the participation of the entire political system, businesses and people. Each shelter built is a testament to the companionship, love and sharing in the community. The Women's Union will continue to expand the program, connect more resources so that more and more women can live in sturdy homes, full of humanity.

The new houses not only have material significance but also nurture hope and inspire the will to live for the disadvantaged and less fortunate women members in Thuy Xuan ward.
