Video of Vu Lan Ceremony at Truc Lam Sung Phuc Zen Monastery:

Vu Lan - the season of filial piety, is an occasion for each of us to remember the birth and upbringing of our parents, to repay the Four Great Graces and to spread the scent of filial piety throughout the community, reminding each person to remember the great birth and upbringing of their parents, and at the same time awakening filial piety in every beat of our hearts.

Vu Lan is not only a Buddhist holiday, but also a cultural beauty in Vietnamese tradition - where the ethics of "When drinking water, remember its source" and "When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree" are honored and spread.
Vu Lan Festival is also an occasion for sentient beings to repay the Four Great Graces: the grace of parents giving birth, the grace of the Three Jewels guiding, the grace of the nation and society, and the grace of all sentient beings.

Also at the Vu Lan ceremony, Buddhists listened to the Most Venerable Thich Dat Ma Pho Trang - Dharma Master of Truc Lam Sung Phuc Zen Monastery, give a Dharma talk on the topic: 'The Meaning of Vu Lan Ceremony'.

May the merits of reciting and chanting be dedicated to my living parents to increase their longevity and blessings, and may my deceased parents and their ancestors from many generations and lifetimes all be reborn in the Pure Land.

In the sacred atmosphere of Vu Lan season - the season of love and filial piety, each of us is reminded of the birth and upbringing of our parents, at the same time arousing a deep sense of gratitude and appreciation.

Vu Lan season of filial piety 2025 at Truc Lam Sung Phuc Zen Monastery also includes activities such as pinning flowers on the chest of parents; wiping hands and washing feet for parents to show deep gratitude to their parents; listening to the tea offering ceremony; performing rituals to pray for peace and dedicate merits, fasting...
