Craft villages specializing in sewing and embroidering national flags are busy before National Day September 2nd.

TPO - Tu Van traditional craft village (Le Loi commune, Thuong Tin district, Hanoi ) is entering its peak production days, serving the increasing demand for national flags on the occasion of National Day, September 2.

In the last days of August, when the whole country is looking forward to celebrating the 79th anniversary of National Day on September 2, the flag tailors of Tu Van craft village (Le Loi commune, Thuong Tin district, Hanoi) are busy working to supply flags to the market nationwide.

This place is famous as the largest national flag sewing village in Hanoi, associated with important national events.

Sharing with Tien Phong , Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc - one of the long-time businesses in Tu Van village said that the flag market this year is very exciting, especially near September 2. At his facility, employees have to work overtime to meet the market's demand. "From cutting fabric into different sizes, to printing stars, embroidering and finishing sewing... each step is meticulously carried out by us, containing the passion of the villagers," Mr. Phuc said.

"Every stitch we make contains pride and responsibility, contributing to creating a proud national flag," Mr. Phuc added.

In Tu Van village, many families have passed down the craft of making national flags for four generations. This work not only brings a stable income but also brings pride, connecting them to the sacred craft village tradition.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huan diligently embroiders the national flag. "Embroidering a flag by hand is a meticulous process, usually lasting 2-3 days. For those new to the profession, the completion time can be up to a week. Each needle and thread embroidered on the flag requires absolute precision," Ms. Huan said.

Each needle and thread is even and precise, creating the image of a brilliant five-pointed golden star on a bright red fabric background.

According to Tu Van villagers, it used to take a lot of time to produce a flag. However, many factories now use advanced machines and computer programming, so the accuracy and productivity are higher.

For large flags to be hung on islands, the choice of fabric material from the beginning is extremely important, because they must withstand harsh weather conditions such as sun and sea wind. Every step, from fabric selection, cutting, sewing, printing to finishing, must be done meticulously to ensure the durability and quality of the flag.

"Every time I see the national flags flying with my handprints on them, I feel extremely proud. That is the joy and motivation for me to love and be more attached to my job," a worker working at Mr. Phuc's house shared.

Nowadays, very few young people in the village follow this profession because of the hardship. With the desire to pass on the profession to the next generation, many families have taught their children to get acquainted with the profession from a young age, aware that this is a profession passed down from their ancestors, and is also the pride of Tu Van villagers.

The flag printing mold is not only a production tool, but also a symbol of patriotism and national pride.

The factory can produce thousands of flags every day. During peak times such as National Day, September 2, production can increase even more, requiring workers to work continuously all day.

The flags have been completed.

Finished products are neatly arranged by workers here to prepare for market to serve the National Day holiday on September 2.
