Grassroots Trade Union (GC) cadres are the support and representative to protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers, and play an important role in the development and strength of the trade union organization, are the "bridge" between the Party and the masses, between employers and workers, and are the companions of the union members in successfully carrying out assigned tasks. They are an important factor contributing to the building of an increasingly strong and developed trade union organization.

Wholeheartedly for workers

At Hoang Minh Water Joint Stock Company (Duc Lap commune, Tay Ninh province), when mentioning the Vice President of the Trade Union Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Huong, many employees know her for her closeness, sincerity and dedication to the collective. Despite being busy with her professional work, she still devotes all her heart to the Union activities, considering this a common home, where each employee can share, listen and connect.

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Huong has been working at Hoang Minh Water Joint Stock Company since 2020, joining the Executive Committee of the Trade Union as soon as she joined the company. In 2021, she was trusted to hold the position of Vice President of the Trade Union. Becoming a Trade Union officer seems to be a fate for her as she had many years of experience participating in Trade Union work.

When she returned to Hoang Minh Water Joint Stock Company, she continued to choose to join the Union because she wanted to contribute and act as a "bridge" between the Board of Directors and the collective of employees. And also because she clearly understood the important role of the organization in representing and protecting the rights of employees.

“Becoming a union officer gives me the opportunity to listen and share more with my fellow workers, while also training my sense of responsibility, organizational skills and team spirit. Most importantly, I find my contributions truly meaningful in bringing joy and peace of mind to union members,” Ms. Huong confided.

To be close to the workers, Ms. Huong chose to accompany them in every activity. Not only listening and chatting at work, she was also willing to join in activities, play, share joys and worries with everyone. A word of encouragement when someone was in trouble, a visit when a colleague was sick - seemingly small things - contributed to creating a great, strong bond.

With the Executive Committee (EC) of the Trade Union, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Huong focuses on building a working spirit based on dialogue and consensus, because according to her: "When everyone has the same goal and can promote their strengths, the EC will be united, unified and the Union's activities will certainly be more effective."

As both Head of Administration - Human Resources and Vice President of the Trade Union, Ms. Huong is interested in advising and proposing comprehensive policies to protect and care for employees.

In addition to essential benefits such as salary, welfare, allowances, and insurance, she also focuses on factors related to the company's development orientation of becoming an "attractive" and "proud" workplace.

Accordingly, she advises on the following contents: building a cohesive, respectful and creative working environment where every employee feels heard and recognized; ensuring a safe, modern and convenient production environment to best serve work and life.

With her own efforts, in recent times, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Huong and the Executive Committee have implemented many practical care programs such as: visiting and providing timely support when union members are in difficulty; organizing monthly birthday celebrations for union members; family festivals, team building, vacations, arts and sports , etc. for employees to participate in. These activities not only help employees have more joy but also increase solidarity and team spirit.

In addition, Ms. Huong always plays the role of "bridge", promptly listening, reflecting and coordinating with the Board of Directors to resolve issues related to benefits and working conditions, helping employees feel secure in their long-term commitment to the company.

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Huong confided: “For me, the Union is not only an organization representing the interests but has truly become a common home for the labor collective. I devote a lot of enthusiasm and affection to Union activities, because I believe that every attention and every timely policy can bring joy, motivation and peace of mind to the laborers. In particular, I was greatly influenced by my father - an exemplary party member, cadre, civil servant, and also the chairman of the Union at his work unit. Since childhood, I have witnessed my father's wholehearted devotion to the collective, dedicated to protecting the interests of the laborers. That shining example and value have gradually permeated me, nurturing my feelings, responsibility and pride in accompanying the Union activities.”

And when asked about the “secret” to effective union activities, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Huong said it all boils down to three things: “Listen - Share - Act”. Listen to understand the thoughts and aspirations of union members; share to create cohesion, spread the spirit of solidarity and take practical, timely action, turning concern into concrete results.

With nearly 20 years of experience in trade union activities, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Sheen Bridge Company Limited (Can Giuoc Commune) Phan Thi Ngoc Linh has always been close to and devoted to union members and employees, contributing to leading the Trade Union to perform well its role of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and employees.

Being an active person, eager to learn and fond of collective activities, Ms. Linh has had a liking for union activities since the first days of her association. The more she participates, the more she loves this activity, because she can participate in many meaningful activities, especially taking care of the lives of union members and employees of the company.

All of this is clearly demonstrated through the grassroots democracy regulations, collective labor agreements with provisions beneficial to employees, resolutions of labor conferences, periodic dialogue meetings, etc. She always supervises and urges the company to comply with the provisions of the law on labor contracts, health insurance, social insurance, unemployment insurance, etc., especially propaganda and legal advice for union members and employees; cares for, helps, and visits union members and employees in difficult circumstances; organizes activities to care for their mental health; contributes to creating a safe and favorable working environment for union members and employees.

In addition to being the Chairwoman of the Trade Union, Ms. Phan Thi Ngoc Linh is also the Head of the Women's Union of the Trade Union, Head of the Human Resources Department of Sheen Bridge Company Limited, so she has more favorable conditions to take care of the Union members and employees.
