Quang Tri leaders direct to remove land clearance problems at Hon La Economic Zone

On July 31, the Quang Tri Economic Zone Management Board said that Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien had just given instructions related to the implementation of projects in Hon La Economic Zone.

Accordingly, in order for the projects to be implemented on schedule, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province Le Duc Tien requested the People's Committees of communes (Phu Trach, Hoa Trach, Quang Trach) to strengthen coordination with investors currently implementing projects within the Hon La Economic Zone to remove difficulties and speed up site clearance for the projects.

In addition, Vice Chairman Le Duc Tien also directed relevant departments and branches to closely coordinate with the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board to focus on removing difficulties and obstacles in related procedures; directed construction units to take advantage of favorable weather, increase human resources, equipment and machinery to speed up the construction progress of works and projects.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Deputy Head of Quang Tri Economic Zone Management Board, said that Hon La Economic Zone has an area of ​​10,000 hectares, of which the mainland is about 8,900 hectares, the island and sea is about 1,100 hectares; located in the communes of Phu Trach, Hoa Trach, Quang Trach and is developed according to the model of a comprehensive economic zone: marine economy, industry, tourism ...

Up to now, Hon La Economic Zone has attracted 81 investment projects, with a total investment of 117 trillion VND. Of these, 34 projects have been put into operation, contributing to the budget about 120 billion VND/year, with a total workforce of nearly 1,000 people.

Within the Hon La Economic Zone, there are currently key projects being invested in, including: Quang Trach Power Center, with a total area of ​​454 hectares, of which, Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant invested by Vietnam Electricity Group is under construction, with a capacity of 1,403 MW with a total investment of 42,023 billion VND; using traditional steam condensing coal-fired thermal power technology, the overall progress of the project to date has reached 94.06%.

Hon La International General Port has a total investment of 2,112 billion VND; area of ​​38.82 hectares (of which construction land is 25.01 hectares, water surface is 13.81 hectares), scale includes 4 berths; phase 1: 2 berths (1 berth for ships of 50,000 DWT and 1 berth for ships of up to 100,000 DWT); phase 2: 2 berths (1 berth for ships of up to 70,000 DWT and 1 berth for ships of up to 100,000 DWT); port throughput capacity in phase 1 is about 3 million tons/year and phase 2 is about 6 million tons/year.

The Titanium - Monazite Ore Deep Processing Industrial Complex Project has a total investment of 2,000 billion VND, an area of ​​8.5 hectares, including 2 components: Titanium slag smelting plant with a designed capacity of 100,000 tons/year, Pig Iron 50,000 tons/year; Monazite Ore Processing Plant: producing 150 - 200 tons/year of rare earth oxides; Rare earth chloride 2,100 tons/year.

In addition, Hon La Economic Zone is also implementing two projects invested from the state budget, including: Hon La Economic Zone Technical Infrastructure Project (total investment of 120 billion VND) and Hon La Seaport Industrial Park Expansion Site Clearance and Leveling Project (total investment of 186 billion VND).
