City People's Committee leaders inspect the North-South high-speed railway project

DNO - On October 17, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Thai Binh, Head of Working Group No. 2 chaired a field inspection of the investment and construction of a number of resettlement areas, people's cemeteries and site clearance for the North-South high-speed railway project (section from the south of Thu Bon River to the end of Da Nang city).

At the inspection session, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Thai Binh listened to opinions from relevant units on planning and adjusting the planning of resettlement areas; recommendations on adjusting the route of the North-South high-speed railway project; planning and allocation of each sub-project in resettlement, and resettlement plans.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested relevant units and localities to report specifically and complete documents according to the plan agreed upon at the inspection session to submit to the city leaders for consideration and specific decisions.

The Quang Nam Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (the investor) said that the North-South high-speed railway project (from the south of Thu Bon River to the end of Da Nang city) has a total investment of over 10,000 billion VND.

The project is divided into sub-projects such as: compensation, support and site clearance services (nearly 5,000 billion VND), technical infrastructure relocation sub-project (240 billion VND), resettlement area construction sub-project (4,500 billion VND) and cemetery construction completion sub-project (465 billion VND).

The investor will focus on investing in the construction of 14 new sub-projects to build resettlement areas (about 28 resettlement areas in 14 communes); investing in the construction of 8 new sub-projects to build cemeteries (about 12 cemeteries in 8 communes) to serve the need for grave reburial.

Currently, the consulting unit is conducting surveys and planning for the agreed areas; surveying the terrain of all areas (the remaining resettlement areas of An My - Thang Dien commune) and Quy Xuan - Thang Binh commune are waiting for the final selection plan).

In implementing the railway compensation and site clearance sub-project, the investor will continue to coordinate with localities and related units to supplement, complete and update during the project appraisal process.

Regarding the implementation of the sub-project of technical infrastructure relocation, the relocation and restoration of medium and low voltage power lines and systems at 94 intersections will be carried out; telecommunication lines at 67 sections with a length of approximately 18,397m and 4 BTS telecommunication transceiver stations will be relocated; and clean water supply pipelines with a length of approximately 11,315m will be relocated.

The investor continues to coordinate and consult with the owner units to update the scope of influence and coordinate the development of an implementation plan.

Also at the inspection, Duy Xuyen commune proposed adjusting the route through the commune to avoid affecting two provincial-level relics (Ngoc Dung Princess's tomb and Nguyen Duc Huy's tomb), the school and not affecting the graves at Nong Bo People's Cemetery (about 21,000 graves).
