OPENING CEREMONY OF THE EXHIBITION OF THE TEMPLE OF LITERATURE - QUOC TU GIAM WITH THE TRADITION OF COMPETITIVE EDUCATION IN NINH BINH

Within the framework of the 3rd Ninh Binh Festival in 2024, celebrating the anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 2024), on the morning of November 25, 2024, Ninh Binh Provincial Library (a unit under the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province) coordinated with the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam to organize the opening of the exhibition Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam with the tradition of education and examinations in Ninh Binh .

Ninh Binh people have a tradition of loving learning, valuing talent training and encouraging learning and examinations. In the family, learning is emphasized, in society, the value of learning is highly valued. Particularly in the feudal period, from the first examination (1075) to the last examination in the North (1918), Ninh Binh had more than 200 people passing the examinations (Trang Nguyen, Bang Nhan, Huong Cong, Cu Nhan). The scholars have made great contributions to the cause of building the country. Among the scholars of Ninh Binh, many became famous cultural figures of the country, with outstanding contributions to the history of the nation, such as Thai Pho Truong Han Sieu of the Tran Dynasty, Doctor Ninh Ton of the Le Dynasty, Trang Bong Vu Duy Thanh, famous people Pham Than Duat, Vu Pham Khai of the Nguyen Dynasty... Temples of literature, temples, and shrines were built in many localities in the province to worship the Saints, Sages, and the scholars in the region and the famous scholars, such as: Temple of Literature of Ninh Binh province, Temple of Literature of Yen Khanh district, Temple of Literature of Yen Khanh district, La Mai village...

Inheriting and promoting the tradition of the ancient capital Hoa Lu with a thousand years of culture, love of learning, and respect for talents, in recent years, the Party Committee and people of Ninh Binh province have always paid attention to and cared for the development of education and training, the career of cultivating people. The exhibition will take place from November 25 to November 25, 2024, with content consisting of 2 parts: Part 1: Temple of Literature - Imperial Academy - The quintessence of Vietnamese philosophy. Part 2: Ninh Binh's tradition of education and examinations during the monarchy. At the exhibition, there will also be other experiential activities such as: printing patterns of the Doctorate stele of the Temple of Literature in Thang Long, Dong Ho paintings (Bac Ninh); Experience using modern technology: Q&A with the AI turtle, Virtual reality glasses, Interactive screen, 3D mapping projection.

The exhibition “Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam with Ninh Binh's tradition of education and examinations” recreates the formation and development process of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam and honors the education and examinations tradition of Ninh Binh province to the public, officials and people in the province. At the same time, it introduces and widely propagates to officials, party members and people about the tradition of studiousness and culture of Ninh Binh province, contributing to educating national pride and love for the homeland to all classes of people, especially the young generation and students of general schools.
