In the qualifying round of Roland Garros Junior Series by Renault 2025 in East, Southeast and South Asia, the tense final match lasting more than 2 hours ended with the victory belonging to Le Tien Anh over Indian tennis player Yashwin Dahiya with a score of 2-0 (7-6, 7-5).
In set 1, the match was a tight affair and was only decided in a tie-break. In set 2, Dahiya exploited the weakness of Tien Anh's backhand, putting great pressure on his serve games to take a 2-1, 4-3 lead.
However, in the decisive games, Dahiya lost his strength and Tien Anh took advantage of the opportunity to defeat the number 1 seed of the tournament.
Previously, the young tennis player of the Army won all 3 matches in Group F, was given a special ticket to the semi-finals in the ranking stage, and easily defeated Ian Liu (Chinese Taipei) 2-0 to qualify for the final.
With the Asian qualifying championship, Tien Anh brought home the trophy with a meaningful bonus of 2,000 USD for a young tennis player. Notably, both Tien Anh and Dahiya won tickets to Japan in October to compete for wildcard spots to attend the 2026 Roland Garros Youth Tournament in Paris, France.
This tennis player born in 2011 still has many limitations, especially in backhand doubles, but Tien Anh will have 2 months to practice and participate in more tournaments to prepare best. However, this championship is an important turning point, opening up many hopes for the young Vietnamese tennis player.
