Bayer Leverkusen has officially announced Kasper Hjulmand as the team's head coach. The contract with the former Denmark coach runs until June 2027.
The appointment comes days after Leverkusen sacked coach Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman was sacked after just two games of the new Bundesliga season.
The former Man United coach joins the German team before the start of the 2025-2026 season.
Leverkusen have failed to win their first two games of the new Bundesliga season, first losing to Hoffenheim and then being held to a 3-3 draw by Werder Bremen.

Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro said: "A farewell at this early stage of the season is painful, but it is necessary. We have to commit to achieving our objectives and to do that we need the best conditions."
Kasper Hjulmand impressed by leading Denmark to the semi-finals of Euro 2020, only to lose narrowly to England. He resigned as Denmark head coach after the team was eliminated in the round of 16 at Euro 2024.
