The ceremony is not only an occasion to honor the heroic history of the nation but also a bridge to strengthen international friendship.
The ceremony space was decorated with the red color of the national flag. Female soldiers in traditional long dresses, holding the Vietnamese flag, brightly welcomed the guests.
Each attendee had the national flag pinned to their chest or wore a bright red scarf with the words "I love Vietnam".

The art program with the theme "Colors of 80 Years" opened impressively. Songs that have been with us through the years such as Ho Chi Minh's Song, The Party Gave Us a Spring and A Round of Vietnam recreated the glorious 80-year history of the nation.
In particular, two performances by the Nepalese unit imbued with international friendship received enthusiastic cheers from all attendees, affirming the solidarity among peacekeeping forces at the mission.
Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Hao, Commander of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Force, was moved to read a commemorative speech, reviewing the brilliant milestones of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2.
Next, the delegates watched a documentary about the August Revolution and National Day September 2, as well as Vietnam's strong rise under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam .
The delegates also enjoyed the brave martial arts dance performances of officers and soldiers to the heroic music, demonstrating strength, discipline and indomitable fighting spirit. This was a unique performance, imbued with the cultural identity and martial spirit of the Vietnamese people.


In addition, delegates visited the area displaying books, photos, traditional costumes and handicrafts introducing the people, culture and country of Vietnam. In particular, the culinary area with traditional Vietnamese dishes attracted a large number of attendees.
At the ceremony, the leaders of the Abyei Special Administrative Region and the Commander of the UNISFA Mission expressed their admiration for Vietnam's glorious history and appreciated the positive contributions of the Vietnamese peacekeeping force to the mission and local community.
Brigadier General Ameer Muhammad Umrani, Deputy Commander of the UNISFA Mission Military Force, said that 80 years ago, Vietnam declared its independence, demonstrating not only its national strength but also its resilient spirit of independence. Since then, Vietnam has been widely known around the world not only for its glorious past but also for its rapid development.
In peacekeeping operations, Vietnam has made great contributions, including the Vietnamese Engineering Team in Abyei. Not only that, Vietnamese soldiers have also built friendly and respectful relationships with the local people and authorities.
Mr. Charles Abyei Jok, Head of Abyei Regional Administration, said that Vietnam has played an increasingly important role in peacekeeping missions around the world. He expressed his admiration for the history and struggle for independence and freedom of the Vietnamese people. He also thanked the Vietnamese peacekeeping force for its contributions to the community.


Honored to participate in the peacekeeping activities for the second term, Senior Lieutenant Vu Phuong Uyen emotionally shared that in the middle of faraway Africa, Vietnamese soldiers were still able to celebrate National Day together, see the red flag with yellow star flying, and listen to songs praising the homeland and country.
"The ceremony was both solemn and warm, just like being at home. What impressed me most was the participation of international friends. Colleagues from other countries joined us in saluting the flag and enjoying the performances.
That shows the solidarity and friendship between the peacekeeping forces at the mission. They understood and shared our joy and pride on National Day. When I saw them wearing the "I love Vietnam" scarves, I was really touched," Senior Lieutenant Uyen expressed.
