Long An was transferred 219.44 hectares of rice land to implement the Southeast Asia Industrial Park project.

In Official Dispatch No. 536/TTg-NN, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha approved the People's Committee of Long An province to decide to change the purpose of using 219.44 hectares of rice-growing land to other purposes to implement the Southeast Asia Industrial Park Project (phase 2) in Can Giuoc district.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested the People's Committee of Long An province to be responsible for the content and data of the report, organize inspections and reviews of the current land use status, ensure consistency in records and field data, and be consistent with the rice-growing land quota allocated by the Prime Minister; be fully responsible before the law and the Prime Minister for deciding to change the purpose of using rice-growing land in accordance with the provisions of the law on land and other relevant laws; ensure economical and effective land use, without loss or waste; be responsible for checking and supervising the separation and use of the topsoil layer in accordance with the provisions of the law; regularly check and resolve difficulties and problems in the process of organizing the implementation of changing the purpose of using rice-growing land in accordance with the provisions of the law.

Long An Provincial People's Committee accepts and fully implements the opinions of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and can only decide to change the purpose of using rice-growing land when the project meets the conditions and complies with the provisions of law.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is fully responsible for the organization of appraisal, appraisal results, completeness and accuracy of the attached records and documents and the content of the proposal to the Prime Minister to approve the change of rice land use purpose to implement the Southeast Asia Industrial Park Project (phase 2) in Can Giuoc district, Long An province, ensuring compliance with regulations; monitor and guide the implementation of the above-mentioned change of rice land use purpose in accordance with the provisions of law.
