With the motto "where there are orphans, there are godmothers", the program has become a bright spot in humanitarian work, caring for and protecting children in special circumstances. From specific directives and instructions, the Women's Union at all levels in the province has proactively coordinated and connected with organizations, businesses and individuals to spread the message of love and sharing to the community. Up to now, the whole province has mobilized, connected and sponsored 765 orphans and children in difficult circumstances with a total support budget of over 5 billion VND. Of which, there are 320 direct "godmothers" and 445 remote "godmothers", not only providing material support but also accompanying and supporting the children mentally.
It is noteworthy that many creative models and methods have been effectively implemented, such as the program "Turning trash into money" to raise funds to care for children; or the writing contest "Inspiring stories in the Godmother program" to spread kind deeds, touching people's hearts. The Association at all levels also mobilizes businesses, organizations, and individuals to join hands to support home repairs, give scholarships, study corners, and gifts on holidays and Tet, helping children have conditions to study, practice, and develop comprehensively. Not only stopping at material assistance, Association officials also regularly visit, encourage, and guide, like real mothers and sisters, accompanying children on their journey to adulthood.
In village 9, Van Don special zone, the story of the kindness of the members and women here is spreading strongly, becoming a bright spot in the movement to build a green, sustainable community. The model of "Turning trash into money" was initiated by the Women's Union of the village in 2020. Although it is not a new idea, thanks to creativity and responsibility, the members have built it into a meaningful movement, contributing to environmental protection and spreading the spirit of sharing.
In just a few years, the association has collected more than 3.5 tons of plastic waste, 2.7 tons of cardboard, scrap paper and nearly 46,600 beer cans, creating a fund of over 22 million VND. What is more valuable is not the number, but the human value, when seemingly useless waste products have been transformed into meaningful gifts conveying love to single women and children in difficult circumstances.
One of the cases sponsored by the Women's Union of Village 9 is Phan Tien Dat (11 years old), who has a serious illness and a particularly difficult family situation. From 2020 up to now, the union has maintained support for Dat with 10kg of rice and 2 cartons of milk each month, with a total value of more than 6 million VND, and at the same time called on more benefactors to join hands to help.
Not only stopping at material support, the "godmothers" also regularly visit, teach, clean the house, becoming a warm spiritual support for Dat and his mother.
From discarded trash bags, with skillful hands and kind hearts, women on remote islands have sown the seeds of a beautiful movement - a movement of love, responsibility and belief in a better life.

The “Godmother” program not only brings material value, but also helps children have more spiritual support, eliminating the feeling of loneliness and disorientation. This is also one of the major goals of the program: Not only providing immediate support, but also helping children build a sustainable future.
Through many specific activities, reaching out to each difficult situation, the program has become a bridge of love, helping many children in difficult circumstances, orphans, lacking both material and spiritual things, to be given more strength to rise up in life.
