Paollo's representative said that Paollo is Brazilian but has also been granted a residence card in Portugal, because he has trained and competed in this country since he was 17 years old, in the shirt of Imortal Youth Club. Paollo's father passed away while his mother was in Brazil. After the accident, Paollo's fiancee was very sad (she is currently in Vietnam and will fly back to Portugal on the evening of August 15) and often called relatives, including Paollo's mother.
The representative of the 27-year-old player's management company often asked her to contact Paollo's mother (because she only speaks Portuguese). Through the discussion, Paollo's mother agreed to authorize HAGL Club to bring him back to Portugal, where he has been attached for many years and is also where the representative company of the striker who scored 6 goals for HAGL in V-League 2023 is located.
The family wants to bring Paollo's body back to Portugal, HAGL will cover all expenses
Paollo passed away, leaving behind regrets for everyone.
HAGL Club CEO, Mr. Nguyen Tan Anh, said that Paollo's fiancee had been in regular contact with Paollo's mother and she agreed to take her son from Vietnam to Portugal instead of Brazil. Currently, HAGL Club is waiting for Paollo's mother to make an official power of attorney so that the club can handle his funeral. After receiving this power of attorney, HAGL Club will send the documents to the Brazilian government, before working with the Portuguese Embassy in Vietnam to be guided on the procedures and complete the process as required.
According to Mr. Tan Anh, HAGL Club is only waiting for the authorization to sign a contract with a professional funeral company to take care of moving Paollo from Pleiku to Ho Chi Minh City and then fly to Lisbon (Portugal) before continuing to bring him home in Faro City, more than 270 km away. All transportation costs and procedures will be paid by HAGL Club. Currently, it is not clear whether Paollo's mother wants to bring his body back or cremate him in Vietnam and bring his ashes back to Portugal.
