Microsoft has no intention of producing a new version of the Xbox.

According to The Gamer , Xbox boss Phil Spencer said Microsoft has no plans to release a more powerful Xbox Series X console. The move comes despite complaints about the quality of new game releases, many of which struggle to hit 60FPS on the Series S and even the Series X.

Spencer said the company’s decision was based on fan feedback, with most players happy with the hardware they have. He also said Xbox will continue to focus on increasing the availability of the Series X, as the powerful console typically sells out faster than the Series S.

This marks a significant change to the Xbox console development schedule. Previously, the Xbox One X was released about four years after the original model, and the Xbox 360 had revisions released just one year after its release. If the Xbox Series follows this trend, Microsoft will certainly have an improved console in the works right now. However, things are still quite vague.

While not offering a new model is a pretty big change, it doesn't come as much of a surprise. The new generation of Xbox consoles got off to a rough start during the pandemic, with production issues exacerbated by supply and component shortages.

And now that many areas are going through an economic crisis, where incomes are not enough to keep up with inflation, many people are forced to cut back on non-essentials (including video games), so spending money on a new Xbox in less than 3 years is not a wise choice.

Perhaps that's why Microsoft is focusing on the cheaper Series S. At the Xbox Games Showcase, the company revealed a new model, the 1TB Xbox Series S. With nearly double the storage, this will allow players to store more games, a very useful improvement for a disc-less console. The new Series S will be available from September 1.

In addition, the Series X supply is also planned for the whole of 2023, making the user's choice more abundant.
