A party member was expelled for leading a group of deforestation in Gia Lai.

Today (May 17), information from the Inspection Committee of Kbang District Party Committee said that it had just expelled from the Party Mr. Dinh A Hyot, a party member currently active in Kon Kring village Party Cell (Kon Pne commune).

Mr. Dinh A Hyot is said to be the leader in cutting down two precious trees in the forest area managed and protected by the Kon Ka Kinh National Park Management Board.

According to the conclusion of the Kbang District Party Committee's Inspection Commission, Mr. Dinh A Hyot violated the rules that Party members are not allowed to do; caused very serious consequences; created bad public opinion in the Party cell; damaged the reputation of himself and the Party cell... to the point of having to be disciplined by being expelled from the Party.

Previously, the authorities discovered that 2 trees in plot 6, Sub-area 76, belonging to the special-use forest managed and protected by the Kon Ka Kinh National Park Management Board, had been cut down. Measurements at the scene showed 15,792 cubic meters of round timber.

According to the initial investigation results, from October 5 to 7, 2022, Dinh A Hyot led, initiated and then, together with a number of others, illegally cut down the two above-mentioned trees.

Currently, Kbang District Police have prosecuted the suspects and proposed to prosecute the subjects who cut down the two trees for "Violating regulations on forest exploitation, protection and forest product management".
