Investigate and strictly handle the case of falsely declaring laser lithotripsy services at the Central Highlands General Hospital

On September 19, the Provincial People's Committee issued a press release on a number of violations in medical examination and treatment activities at the Department of Nephrology and Urology, Tay Nguyen General Hospital after press agencies inside and outside the province reported on a number of violations in medical examination and treatment activities at this unit.

Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee said that the above incident was discovered on July 22, 2025, through the inspection activities of the Inspection Team of the Department of Health according to Decision No. 0355/QD-SYT dated July 17, 2025 on inspection and evaluation of professional activities of the Central Highlands General Hospital.

Based on the conclusion of the Inspection Team, the Department of Health directed the Central Highlands General Hospital to correct existing shortcomings and violations and review and clarify the responsibilities of related organizations and individuals.

Central Highlands General Hospital, where the incident occurred

On August 20, 2025, the Disciplinary Council of the Central Highlands General Hospital held a meeting, reviewed and initially decided to discipline 3 doctors and 1 nurse related to the incident. At the same time, the Department of Health and the Central Highlands General Hospital coordinated to provide complete and timely records and related documents to the Dak Lak Provincial Police investigation agency to conduct an investigation in accordance with the law.

Currently, the Standing Committee of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee has assigned the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee to inspect when there are signs of violations against the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Central Highlands General Hospital and assigned the Dak Lak Provincial Police Party Committee to direct the continued investigation and handling of the case to ensure strictness, no forbidden areas, no exceptions and in accordance with the provisions of law.

When there are conclusions from the investigation and inspection agencies, Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee will promptly inform the press agencies.
