At the opening ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Principal, shared some inspirational words that excited the new students. Mr. Tuan said that the presence of students today is not simply the result of an exam, but a living proof of their own efforts, will and courage.
"The pursuit of happiness and freedom is based on ethics and wisdom. Happiness does not lie in what you have, but in what you can bring to others. We call it "Beatitudo" - happiness in serving, in living for the community. If you choose this path, you will not only live happily, but also have a stable, prosperous career and a soul full of fulfillment," Dr. Tuan advised.
Mr. Tuan also advised students to use their youth in a useful way, don't let social networks, games, and urban pleasures take away the most precious thing: time.
"In the next 3.5 years, live fully, commit, and grow up. You are the pilots of the plane called career. Whether you fly high or low, far or near, is up to you. Please note that the airport schedule is very busy and punctual. Set yourself a goal of graduating on time, so that we do not miss the first flights of our lives!", Mr. Tuan continued to convey the message.

Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology, beat the drum to open the new school year. Mr. Tuan said the school will promote the implementation of the teaching assistant model to help students graduate on time.

And to help students "not miss the first flight of their lives", Dr. Tuan said that this year, the school will promote the TA - Teaching Assistant model, to support students to graduate on time.
Accordingly, in addition to academic advisors who are experienced teachers, TAs are senior students, peers, who have gone through the university journey, and will be selected to support the next class. "When you encounter difficulties in a subject, don't be shy. Go to TAs, faculty officers, or academic advisors for support. And who knows, if you try hard, you might be the TAs for the next class," Mr. Tuan shared.
Also at the opening ceremony, the school's two valedictorians were awarded 50% tuition scholarships for the 2025-2026 school year (worth about 19 million VND/student). In addition, 44 valedictorians of all majors also received 25% tuition scholarships (worth about 9 million VND/student). This scholarship will be maintained for the following years if the prescribed conditions are met.
In addition, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students with good academic achievements have also received Companion scholarships, Steadfast scholarships, etc. from the school's scholarship fund and those contributed by businesses.
