The new device has appeared on the Geekbench platform with the name “Motorola Razr 50s”. Experts say that the Razr 50s has a configuration that is between the Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra (also known as Razr 2024 and Razr Plus 2024).
Performance test results show that the Motorola Razr 50s scored 1,040 points in single-core and 3,003 in multi-core. However, detailed specifications have not been announced yet.
For comparison, the Motorola Razr 2024 scored 1,051 points in single-core and 3,032 points in multi-core. This means the new budget flip device is almost as powerful as its predecessors.
Other details revealed include the Razr 50s using a MediaTek 7300 chipset, with a base clock speed of 2GHz and 8GB of RAM. The 8-core ARM processor is divided into two clusters of four cores each. The phone will come with Android 14 pre-installed.
The Razr 50s is considered a budget version compared to the Razr 2024 which starts at $700 and the Razr Plus 2024's $1,000. Therefore, it could cost between $400 and $500.
This is a super cheap price for a flip smartphone at the moment, while still maintaining relatively good performance.
Motorola's Razr 2024 is one of the best-value flip phones on the market right now, so a more affordable version promises to make a splash, and could even be a strong contender for best smartphone of the year if done right.
