MU agrees to sell Antony to Real Betis at a cheap price

After much controversy, MU finally agreed to sell Antony to Real Betis for a fee of 25 million euros, plus 50% of future resale profits.

Antony returned to form after spending the second half of last season on loan at Betis, helping the Spanish club reach the Conference League final.

This summer, the Brazilian star wants to return to Betis but negotiations have been prolonged and at times reached a dead end.

However, The Athletic has just confirmed that the two clubs have finally reached an agreement to transfer Antony.

United agreed a fee of just 25 million euros (22 million pounds). However, they will receive a clause to receive 50% of the resale profit, if Antony goes to another club in the future.

In addition, MU also does not have to compensate for the salary difference, because Betis will take full responsibility for financial support for the Brazilian striker.

This means MU will significantly reduce the salary fund, because Antony's salary at Old Trafford is up to 6 million pounds/year.

The above move untied the deal, because just 2 days before, Real Betis posted a notice withdrawing the offer to MU due to insufficient finances.
