(Dan Tri) - On the evening of August 22, for the first time, Hoi An city coordinated with the organizing unit to perform the play "Straw" in the middle of the golden rice fields, honoring the peaceful beauty of Hoi An countryside during the harvest season.
Hoi An has long been known to tourists from all over the world for its landmarks and tourism products such as: the full moon night of the old town, the Japanese Covered Bridge, Cua Dai and An Bang beaches, Bay Mau water coconut forest... With the Rom play, for the first time, tourists are captivated by the countryside scenery, the golden ripe rice fields, and can fully experience the flavors, colors and atmosphere of the harvest season. For the first time, visitors from all over the world were able to enjoy a contemporary dance performance right on the vast ripe rice fields in Hoi An, where the sunset bathed the landscape in a warm golden hue. Amidst the steady rhythm of planting and harvesting, the simple "Straw" emerged as a symbol of resilience, creativity and sustainability of the Hoi An countryside. Straw tells the story of the simple and genuine feelings of Vietnamese peasant families. The simple, familiar haystack is an important witness next to the house: From the time the grandparents were young, met each other, got married and had children, until the children were born and spent their childhood playing and being mischievous under the haystack. Over time, the children grew up, the grandparents sat under the haystack to plan their marriage. And so, each generation left, the haystack still stood there as a witness to the family's bond. The haystack sometimes emptied, sometimes filled, just like the feelings sometimes deep, sometimes full, sometimes empty...
The play "Straw" on the background of ripe rice fields in harvest season, is the first time the combination of contemporary dance and nature (ambiance dance) is introduced to tourists visiting Hoi An. The play "Straw" is an effort of Hoi An city to build and develop the city in the direction of an ecological - cultural - tourist city, focusing on promoting and creating available potentials and advantages, especially in the field of culture and arts. Talking to Dan Tri reporter about the message that the organizer wants to convey through the dance, the director of the dance Nguyen Tan Loc said, Rom is a story about the simple and genuine feelings of a Vietnamese farming family. Against the backdrop of the immense ripe rice fields of Hoi An, under the warm yellow of the August sunset, the play honors the peaceful and gentle beauty of Hoi An countryside during the harvest season. Straw is not only a work of art but also a vivid picture of the ingenuity and perseverance of the Vietnamese people, cultural values that have been nurtured through generations. "Through 'Rom', we hope to bring to Hoi An city a unique cultural and tourist work, and at the same time bring Vietnamese dance and culture closer to domestic and international art lovers," said director Nguyen Tan Loc. The organizers said the play will only run until August 25.
