Parents shocked when watching video

After a video of a student misbehaving with a teacher in the classroom went viral on social media, many people expressed their anger and sadness over what happened.

Ms. Nguyen Hong Anh said that her child is studying at Dai Kim Secondary School and was shocked when she saw the video of a student pulling the teacher's hair and holding her head down while the whole class sat in silence, no one stood up to defend her.

“I don't know if this is because of indifference or because the children are too scared of what is happening,” said Ms. Hong Anh.

On online forums, the incident is being shared, many people are asking why all the students in the class are sitting still?

In the explanatory report of Dai Kim Secondary School sent to the People's Committee of Dinh Cong Ward and the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, it was explained that when Ms. H. (the victim) confiscated the sharp object, LGB stood up and asked her to return it.

Faced with the teacher’s determination, B. acted aggressively: pulling her hair and pinning her down to snatch back the toy. This action took place in front of many classmates. Some students pulled the curtains to avoid being seen by students outside the class.

After the teacher escaped from the classroom, she went to report to the school board. At that time, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Ha, the school principal, and the teacher returned to the classroom. The principal asked student B. (the one who grabbed the teacher's hair and held her head) to apologize to her in front of the class and asked the two students sitting below B. to write a report on the incident. The report had to answer the question: "Why didn't you take action to stop your friend and rescue the teacher?"

It is known that the student wrote in the report: "At that time, you were too excited, your body was big, I couldn't do anything."

The teacher forgave the student

Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Ha, Principal of Dai Kim Secondary School, said that after the incident, the Board of Directors quickly handled it according to their authority. The school organized for the offending student to directly admit his mistake and publicly apologize to the teacher in front of the class, and at the same time invited parents to work together to agree on educational measures, creating conditions for students to correct their mistakes and practice their behavior.

The school also asked the family to take the child for a medical examination and psychological check-up, however, after the examination, the family has not been able to provide the school with the results of the medical examination.

The school board encouraged and stabilized the teacher's spirit, avoiding the incident from causing more pressure and affecting her teaching work. The homeroom teacher accepted the apology and forgave the student.

On the evening of September 19, the People's Committee of Dinh Cong Ward reported the incident to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and said that the ward had directed the ward police to investigate the incident and clarify it to ensure the rule of law, thereby deterring and preventing acts of violence or opposition to teachers.

Dinh Cong Ward People's Committee determined that the incident at Dai Kim Secondary School was serious, not only directly affecting the safety, honor and reputation of teachers but also negatively impacting the educational environment, causing public outrage.

The local government's viewpoint is to ensure fairness, objectivity, and resolutely handle violations to maintain the dignity of teachers and discipline in schools. However, it is also necessary to focus on education, helping students clearly recognize their mistakes, have the opportunity to correct and reintegrate into the community, and avoid discrimination or dropping out of school.

The Department of Culture and Society shall closely coordinate with schools and relevant agencies to seriously implement measures to strengthen school security and safety and build school culture; at the same time, take measures to provide psychological support for teachers and behavioral counseling for students.

For Dai Kim Secondary School, the Ward People's Committee has requested to seriously learn from experience in management work, strengthen supervision, maintain discipline and classroom rules, and at the same time pay attention to and encourage the teacher's spirit in the incident, ensuring a safe and healthy teaching environment for the teaching staff.

In addition, schools must continue to closely coordinate with parents to educate and correct violations, helping students correct mistakes and progress.
