After the merger, Phu Tho province is one of the three localities with the largest educational scale in the country. According to statistics from the Department of Education and Training, the whole province currently has 1,957 educational establishments, more than 1 million students and over 60,000 staff and teachers.

The province's school and classroom consolidation rate is over 90%; schools meeting national standards are over 83%. The quality of mass and key education continues to be maintained and improved. In the 2024-2025 school year, the whole province has 206 national excellent student awards, 8 national science and technology awards, 1 student won an international gold medal; the high school graduation rate is 99.72%, the average score of high school graduation exams is ranked 5th out of 34 provinces and cities.

The teaching staff is basically sufficient in number, relatively uniform in structure, and increasingly standardized according to the 2019 Education Law.

Phu Tho province has a diverse school system including semi-boarding schools, boarding schools, specialized schools, inter-level schools, private schools and a number of high-quality models. Special policies on supporting students in disadvantaged areas, attracting high-quality human resources, rewarding national excellent students... have come into life.

This figure reflects the investment in the education and training sector over the past years to expand learning opportunities, narrow the gap between regions, improve the quality of local education, and affirm the province's commitment to "education as the top national policy".

Among the tasks and solutions proposed in Resolution No. 71 is the strong institutional innovation, creating unique and outstanding mechanisms and policies for the development of education and training. Determining that state budget expenditure for education and training reaches at least 20% of total state budget expenditure, in which investment expenditure allocation reaches at least 5% of total state budget expenditure and expenditure for higher education reaches at least 3% of total state budget expenditure.

Resolution No. 71 clearly states that a breakthrough in education and training development must start with innovation in thinking, awareness and institutions. Therefore, it is necessary to innovate awareness, thinking and action, creating strong political determination to develop comprehensive education in the province. At the same time, it is necessary to perfect institutions, mechanisms and specific policies for education.

By 2030, Phu Tho province will become the center of education and training in the region, among the top 5 provinces in the country.

Focus on 3 strategic breakthroughs: Comprehensive digital transformation; improve the quality of foreign languages ​​and information technology; train high-quality human resources to meet the requirements of integration and development.
