Many schools have announced early admission scores.
Many universities have announced early admission benchmarks for Computer Science in 2024.
At the National Economics University , the benchmark score for Computer Science is 27.75 for group 1 and 22.25 for group 2.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology previously announced the benchmark scores for talent selection for about 20% of the 2024 enrollment target.
The remaining positions in the top 5 industries with the highest scores include:
Computer Science (IT1) is in the top 5 majors with the second highest benchmark score, just behind Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (IT-E10).
Accordingly, the benchmark score for this industry is 103.89 points (110-point scale, an increase of 13.72 points compared to last year).
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – VNU has announced the early admission benchmark scores for 2024. In method 2 (Priority admission according to VNU-HCM regulations), the major with the highest benchmark score is Computer Science, standard program with a total score of 86.7.
Admission score is the sum of the average scores of subjects (in the admission subject group) of grades 10, 11, 12 (90-point scale), according to essays and recommendation letters.
In the 2024 enrollment season, some schools such as the University of Transport, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (USTH), etc. also announced opening additional majors in Information Technology and Computer Science.
What is the benchmark?
According to teachers and admissions experts, this year the "hot" majors have high entrance scores. If the quota is the same as last year, the competition will be greater.
According to analysis from the score spectrum of traditional exam blocks such as A, B, A1, C, D, all moved to the right of the chart, the average and median scores both increased compared to 2023.
At the same time, universities have now proactively implemented many enrollment plans, causing the enrollment quota based on high school graduation exam scores to decrease. Therefore, the standard scores for each block are unlikely to decrease, and top schools will remain the same or increase slightly compared to 2023.
According to teachers, blocks A, B, A1 will increase less than 0.25-1 point, blocks C, D can increase from 0.5-2 points depending on the school, and there may even be strong fluctuations in some schools because of the huge variables that will come when candidates change their wishes.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc - Chairman of the Council of the University of Technology, Hanoi National University commented that with the score distribution of subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, especially Chemistry and Geography, the number of 10 points is higher than in previous years. Therefore, it is predicted that the score distribution of the combination A00, A01, B00, C00, D01 will increase.
If there is no major change in the ratio of admission quotas based on high school graduation exam results, this year's entrance scores will be higher than last year's in all combinations and may differ by 1-3 points.
