Festival of typical agricultural products

(GLO)- On the evening of October 17, at Dai Doan Ket Square, Pleiku ward, Gia Lai Farmers' Association opened the Agricultural Products Festival associated with the 1st typical agricultural products contest in 2025. This is truly a festival of farmers with typical agricultural products gathered and promoted.

Attending the opening ceremony were Ms. Huynh Thuy Van, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, representatives of a number of departments, branches and a large number of farmers from communes and wards across the province.

With a scale of 80 booths, the Agricultural Products Festival associated with the first Typical Agricultural Products Competition in 2025 is the largest scale ever, attracting the participation of 68 units inside and outside the province, including Farmers' Associations of communes, wards, cooperatives, production and business establishments, enterprises and Farmers' Associations of Dak Lak and Quang Ngai provinces. More than 300 typical products of local farmers, of which over 60 key branded agricultural products, with production and processing processes meeting OCOP and VietGAP standards were introduced and promoted at the festival, bringing excitement to consumers.

Ms. Dinh Thi Kim Nguyen, De Gi Commune Farmers' Association shared: "We bring to this Festival local specialties, such as De Gi sea fish, anchovy fish sauce, and give away clean salt products made from the sea water of my hometown. With the desire to introduce and experience widely to people in the western region of the province."

After visiting and buying many products for her family, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Linh, Thong Nhat ward, excitedly said: "This is the first time the agricultural fair has had such a rich variety of products, with both products from farmers in Binh Dinh and Gia Lai provinces, all bringing regional specialties to display and introduce. These products meet safety criteria, so consumers like us are very secure."

The Agricultural Products Festival and the Typical Agricultural Products Competition will take place over 3 days, from October 17 to 19, 2025. The Organizing Committee of the Competition will have an evaluation and scoring section based on product groups and industries with criteria such as: local strengths, products applying high-tech processes in production, orientation of high-tech application, products with prestige in the market, economic efficiency through profiles and product introductions, sales, quality certificates, etc.

“This festival is organized on a large scale, gathering the participation of many localities in Gia Lai province. Through this, we want to create conditions for farmers to promote, display, and introduce their products, helping farmers connect supply and demand, cooperate, and form joint ventures in production and consumption of products, creating opportunities to exchange and share production experiences, and innovate new science and technology in the fields of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries” - Mr. Y Kham - Vice Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Gia Lai province said.
