Nghe An: Increasing the discharge flow of Chau Thon hydropower reservoir (Muong Quang commune) from 6:00 p.m. on July 22

This afternoon (July 22), the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province continued to issue Urgent Notice No. 132 on increasing the discharge flow of Chau Thon Hydropower Reservoir (Muong Quang Commune).

The notice stated: At 2:40 p.m., the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province received Notice No. 86 dated July 22, 2025 of Son Vu Energy Development Joint Stock Company on the operation of the Chau Thon hydropower reservoir discharge project.

To ensure the safe operation and regulation of water at Chau Thon Hydropower Reservoir in accordance with the procedures approved by the Provincial People's Committee and in accordance with the hydrological situation at the project, Son Vu Energy Development Joint Stock Company plans to operate and regulate Chau Thon Hydropower Reservoir as follows:

Additional discharge time: Starting from 18:00, July 22, 2025.

Expected discharge flow: Total discharge flow from 20m ³ /s to 300m ³ /s (Including discharge flow through valve gate and power generation flow through generators) and may change depending on the amount of water coming to the lake .

Discharge end time: Until the end of the flood season.

The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense informs: Muong Quang Commune People's Committee; Heads of provincial departments, branches and sectors to inform, to notify authorities at all levels, agencies, units, investors constructing along the river, on the river, owners of water transport vehicles and all people in the area downstream of Chau Thon Hydropower Plant to know, to deploy necessary work, to ensure the safety of life and property of the State and the People.
