Warm family of the meritorious
50 years have passed since her husband and son sacrificed their lives for the cause of national liberation. Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Le (91 years old, Long Thanh hamlet, Phuoc Long commune) quietly calls her husband and son back with fragrant incense sticks.
The husband of Mother VNAH Nguyen Thi Le is Mr. Vo Van Nay (alias Nam Thanh), who joined the revolution in 1945 at Battalion 307. In 1969, he held the position of District Party Committee member, Head of Propaganda Department of Hong Dan district and heroically sacrificed in 1972. The son is Vo Van Roi (born in 1956), who joined the revolution in 1970 at Battalion U Minh 2 ( Ca Mau province), and sacrificed in 1973. It was not until 1979 that his remains were found for burial.
Comrade Ho Thanh Thuy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee visited and presented gifts to express gratitude to Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Le.
Mother Le herself steadfastly participated in the revolution. From being the leader of the Women's Supply Team, the leader of the Women's National Salvation Team to military work, then being imprisoned by the enemy. After liberation, she continued to work at the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Vice President of the Women's Association of Hong Dan district until her retirement. Up to now, despite her old age, her memory is still sharp. She often tells her children and grandchildren about the heroic years of fighting the enemy of their ancestors, the sacrifices and losses of the nation and relatives to regain independence and freedom for her children and grandchildren to enjoy today.
" I am very happy that every year on holidays and Tet, the local government sends people to visit, give gifts and ask about my health. In addition, they also support my family a lot in both life and spirit. My family and I feel very warm", VNAH Mother Nguyen Thi Le happily said.
Due to the lack of economic development conditions in his hometown, Mr. Ngo Van Tot (95 years old, Binh Le hamlet, Vinh Phuoc commune) and his son and his wife have been working in Ho Chi Minh City for more than 20 years. Mr. Tot was born into a family with a long revolutionary tradition and also spent a long time hiding and protecting cadres. In recognition of his contributions, the local government has taken many activities to care for him and his family.
Mr. Tot was moved: "Although I do not live in my hometown, the local government still regularly contacts me to ask about my life and health. Every time there is a holiday like April 30, September 2 or Tet, they send me gifts. The most touching thing is that recently the local government supported a house of more than 120 square meters and 70 million VND to build a house of gratitude so that my family can settle down and make a living on our homeland."
Comrade Nguyen Minh Luan, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited and presented gifts to war invalid To Thi Nhanh (Hamlet 2, Thoi Binh commune).
Ensure full compliance with policies and regulations
Through two long resistance wars, the army and people of Ca Mau have made great contributions to the cause of national liberation and unification. Thousands of outstanding children have heroically sacrificed, leaving a glorious mark in the history of the nation. Currently, the whole province has recognized and managed about 185 thousand records of people with revolutionary contributions and their relatives; the number of subjects receiving regular allowances is over 21,681 people, with monthly allowance payments of over 60 billion VND. Of these, there are 71 living Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, 120 war invalids with a disability rate of 81% or higher.
Mr. Ngo Vu Thang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, said: "Deeply grateful for the great sacrifices and contributions of generations of fathers and brothers for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, the Party Committee, the Government and the People of Ca Mau province always keep in mind the principle of "when drinking water, remember its source". The whole province prioritizes taking care of the lives of policy families, people with meritorious services and their relatives through many practical and humane activities. These include taking care of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; taking care of relatives of martyrs; building a Gratitude Fund, giving out gratitude savings books; building new houses, repairing houses; giving priority in enrollment, vocational training, job creation; supporting preferential loans for production and business...".
On holidays, New Year, and every July 27, the province organizes delegations to visit and give gifts to families with meritorious services; organizes delegations of officials to visit martyrs' cemeteries and monuments marking the heroic sacrifices of heroic martyrs... Through these activities, up to now, 100% of families with meritorious services and meritorious services have a standard of living equal to or higher than the average level of local people.
Comrade Nguyen Binh Tan, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee, and local authorities presented gifts to war invalid Pham Quoc Viet (Choi Moi hamlet, Dinh Thanh commune).
Not only fully implementing the policies and regimes, the work of caring for people with meritorious services in Ca Mau is also spread through many movements and practical actions of all levels, sectors and the community. Many meaningful programs such as "Meals with Mother", medical examination and treatment, giving gardens and fish ponds of gratitude, repairing and lighting candles in gratitude at martyrs' cemeteries, supporting working days to build houses of gratitude... are maintained regularly. Enterprises also actively join hands by accepting to take care of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, supporting funding for house building, giving gifts on holidays and Tet and giving priority to recruiting children of war invalids and martyrs.
A bright spot in the recent work of gratitude is the implementation of the Housing Support Program for people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs. To date, the province has supported and completed the construction of 9,594 houses, with a total cost of over 470 billion VND.
The deep and timely attention of the local government and the community is a source of encouragement and a solid spiritual support for people with meritorious services and policy families. It is worth noting that policy families always maintain and promote revolutionary traditions, set good examples in implementing the Party and State's policies and guidelines, strive to improve, and educate their families to actively participate in building an increasingly civilized and prosperous homeland./.
